Rev Edna Heacock (1929 to 2026)
Edna became affiliated with The First Spiritualist Church of Kent in early 1980. She began her spiritual path at the same period of time from the To Be Health Center in Canton, Ohio.
Edna studied with a number of spiritual teachers and served in Churches in Massillon, Akron and Cleveland. She also served in Spiritualist camps in Iowa and Ohio. She attended many classes in Lilydale, New York and Chesterfield, Indiana. She served The First Spiritualist Church of Kent with her many spiritual gifts and also taught classes.
Edna is remembered as a very caring, kind and generous person. She was a mother, mentor and teacher to many. She was always willing to help others see their light and true potential. Even brief interactions with her were deeply menaingful. It was her wish that everyone would strive to find peace, harmony and love within themselves so the world would be peaceful, not hateful. She was a lifelong learner, and especially loved working with her guides to evolve.
Edna will live on through the love that she shared with us all.
Rev. Victoria
Pastor and Board President
Victoria is currently the Board President of the First Spritualist Church of Kent. She has been a minister since 1992, first with the Aquarian Church of Universal Service. She was ordained as a Spiritualist minister in 2007 through the Church of Wisdom at Delphi University. She holds certification as a Medium from the Arthur Ford International Academy of Mediumship and is certified as a RoHun Master (nearly Doctor) from The RoHun Institute at Delphi University. She has also completed self-realization courses from the University of Self-Knowledge. Victoria also has a Master’s degree in Education and is a full-time teacher.
Victoria has been on a spiritual path since 1990 when she began studying from the Ascended Masters at Lotus Lodge and through published material from the Ascended Masters Teaching Foundation in Mt. Shasta. She has belonged to many spiritual groups where she has spoken and taught classes. Victoria has been a member of The First Spiritualist Church of Kent since 2013.

I believe we are here on this Earth to find love and joy in everything we do, and to help others to awaken their own spiritual nature. Rev. Augustine

Rev. Elaine N. Dian
Elaine is a Medium and Clairvoyant. She enjoys giving messages from spirit and participating in the church’s Saturday Message Service. She also accepts private clients for Past Life and Soul Plane regressions.
Elaine has been a member of the church for fifteen years. She has taken many classes at Lilydale, NY and with Rev. Edna. She received her minister’s license from Rev. Edna at The First Spiritualist Church of Kent. She also has a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and is a trained Hypnotherapist.
Elaine became interested in the afterlife as a small child when her mother shared her near death experience with her. Many of her extended family members also have the gift of Mediumship.

Rev. Yvonne Hughson
Yvonne is a clairvoyant, intuitive, and psychic medium. She is a graduate of the Fellowships of the Spirit School of Prophecy and Healing in Lily Dale NY and is a Lily Dale Assembly member.
Yvonne first attended a Spiritualist church in her teens. The philosophy of Spiritualism spoke to her and became a guide through the ups and downs of life. She feels much gratitude for the wonderful mediums and teachers she has studied with over the years! Rev. Karen Elias
In 1987 Karen was introduced to a Spiritualist church in Massillon, Ohio. While attending a service she asked myself, "If I could ask for a 'Gift of Mediumship' what would it be"? The answer came rushing into her mind without hesitation -Healing! Thus began her journey to become a Certified Healer. She refers to this as a journey because that is what it is. It began with ‘Hands On Healing’ and has continued through many different variations and is now ‘Healing through the Energy Fields’, where no physical touching is needed. This has come about through ‘Trusting in Spirit’. As Karen says, “It is Spirit's healing God energy and I am just the vehicle they use to deliver it.”
Over all these years there have been many gifts that Spirit has shown her. Spirit Art, Message giving, and Inspirational writing are some that have come to her and been used on and off when needed. Opening up to Spirit and using your gifts for the welfare of others is part of why we are here.

In Loving Memeory of Rev. Cheri Deyling
Rev. Cheri Deyling held the offices of Vice-President , Secretary and Treasurer of The First Spiritualist Church of Kent, Ohio. She was involved with the church for almost 30 years.
She studied The Birth of Modern Spiritualism, Healing Techniques, and World Religions through The Morris Pratt Institute. She continued her studies including - Healing, Mediumship, Phenomena, and Ministry in classes with Rev. Edna Heacock for over 19 years. She was ordained by Rev. Edna on December 21 2003 at The First Spiritualist Church of Kent.
For over 30 years Cheri attended workshops, and various classes in Lilydale, New York. She was always eager to learn, gain knowledge and share information. She had certificates of completion from various spiritual classes including healing.
Cheri was extremely proud to be of service to others, sharing her gifts not only at church but wherever needed. Her mission in life was to help uplift, inspire and encourage all people to be the best they can be. She believed we are all God’s children. We are connected to all living beings and things. We are the light of the world.
We will greatly miss Cheri's presence at church and in our lives. We know that her spirit lives on and continues to serve others in an even greater capacity.
