Adults (scroll to bottom for kids)

Our adult classes are designed to be engaging, entertaining and challenging. We have a heavy focus on fundamentals, transitions and control. We hope that as soon as a student walks through that door they feel welcomed and part of a supportive team. We pride ourselves in the flexibility and variety offered in our classes. At THE FARM we cater to all aspects of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu game, from leglocks to wrestling and beyond. In the GI we follow the IBJJF ruleset and for NO GI we follow a grappling based ruleset (ADCC) were we allow leglocks from beginner level. We offer 2 lessons per week with specific focus on leglocking and wrestling. Don't worry if you feel unfit, nervous or unsure about BJJ, just come and try. We are sure you will be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the experience. Remember! we are all here to help each other develop and improve. Also, you get 5 trial sessions free of any charge.

Private Classes: We offer private classes for anyone who is interested. Just contact Scott for information.

Competition Classes: We provide more competition based classes in the run up to competitions our athletes are competing in. These classes have a faster and heavier workload, come with a winners mindset to these classes. These classes are common ever couple of months and last for 2-3 months.

The 'GI' Game

The name 'GI' in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu refers to the kimono often seen in other Martial Arts such as Karate or Judo. Brazilian Jiu jitsu teaches the practitioner to use the GI to control and submit their opponent. The GI game is seen 'in general' as a more technical aspect of BJJ and provides the practitioner with much more options to control and submit their opponent. The GI game is usually comprised of foot sweeps, throws, lapel control, chokes and of course 'guard'.

The 'NO GI' Game

The NO GI jiu jitsu game lends itself more to wrestling and leglocking. It tends to be faster, slippier and have more scrambles (fights for positional dominance) than the GI game. Practioners often find themselves employing different techniques in NO GI than GI to account for the lack of grips. NO GI BJJ focuses more on wrist control and clasping of grips to dominate and control the opponent.

Kids

Our kids curriculum focuses on the development of BJJ fundamentals and understanding. Kids classes are designed to be fun and challenging. Our kids classes contain full sparring classes alongside fun activities and games to make sure the children are developing in a positive and safe environment. Certain submissions and chokes will not be permitted within the kids classes. The kids advance onto the adult classes when they reach the age of 16.

We have 2 categories for the kids classes:

Ages: 6-9 and 10-15

*Children younger than 5 will be considered if they demonstrate they are able to maintain focus during classes.
