I am a senior majoring in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Med and minor in chemistry with a passion for medicine and neuroscience. I currently work as a direct care for agency at scensob staffing. I enjoy being indoors while reading or listening to music. I like to enjoy nature sightseeing and taking pictures of them.
I grew up with my cousins and some nieces and nephews and since I could remember, they have been interested in dinosaurs of all species but the one they all agree to "being superior" was T. rex. So, I always ask myself, what makes T. rex Special?
T. rex was not always the towering giant we recognize today. It evolved from much smaller ancestors within the tyrannosauroid lineage. Early relatives of T. rex, such as Dilong and Guanlong, were small, feathered dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic period. Over millions of years, these early tyrannosaurs gradually increased in size, adapting to new ecological roles.
During the Late Cretaceous period, T. rex emerged as the apex predator of North America. Its massive growth was driven by changes in its environment, this includes shifts in prey availability and competition with other predators. The combination of rapid growth rates, enhanced hunting capabilities, and powerful bone-crushing jaws helped T. rex become one of the most dominant land predators of all time.
This website explores T. rex's evolutionary journey, from its early relatives to its eventual rise as a giant predator. Each page will dive into different aspects of its biology, including its family tree, growth to gigantism, unique adaptations, and eventual extinction and legacy.
