The Elbert Brown Educational Fund is currently on hold. The corporate trustee is in the process of resigning. And there is only one active trustee working at this time.
An update was sent to family members today August 14, 2026 with details. If you didn't receive it please update your email address using the button below for updates or send an email to mbrown@elbertbrownlegacy.org with your email address. If your email has been updated, please check your SPAM folder.
We need trustees asap for the reasons outlined in the email update. If we can't find trustees within the family, the courts may take over decision making for the trust.
The corporate trustee has filed a petition with the courts to select another financial institution. Individual trustees outside the family may be selected as well.
If the family doesn't show an interest in managing the trust per Elbert's trust document funds may be lost.
If you're interested in becoming a trustee please click the button on this page and express interest by August 17, 2026.
You can also update family contact information using the blue button below, so that communication about the fund can reach the right people and no one is unintentionally left out.
Trust activity is on hold until we can find at least two individual trustees and a new corporate trustee.
Activities on Hold
Finalizing operating procedures and preparing a fair application process so that future requests for educational assistance can be reviewed consistently, responsibly, and in keeping with the purpose of the trust.
Applications are not open at this time, but family members are encouraged to express interest so they can receive updates when the fund is ready to begin accepting applications.
I'm working on meeting with the corporate trustee to determine plans going forward.
Family members may complete the interest form to receive updates when more information becomes available.
