Issue 1 (Test)
Editor's Note: I appreciate everyone's time in getting this test issue up! Though it isn't much now, I am hoping it will grow in the coming months! Thank you all for reading and participating!
While The Eden Post is a voice for the community, there are plenty other ways to connect!
For the first edition of Cook with Thorn, Pumpkin Cookies!
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. In a sperate bowl, mix together 2 cups of oats, 1 cup of pumpkin puree, and 2 tablespoons of molasses. Form into a pan of your choice and bake for 15 minutes. Cool and let your pony enjoy! If you want more goodies, try adding peeled apple chunks or bits of carrot.
For many, this summer and fall seems to be a hot one! To help keep your ponies cool, the TEP team went on the hunt for tricks to beat the heat. KPH Equestrian stated her horse loves to be hosed down, "[but] unfortunately, [she] can't stand out there all day to spray him, so instead, sometimes [she hangs] the lawn sprinkler over the gate and he'll just stand by it, turning around occasionally to get the other side." So we are not the only ones to enjoy a romp through the sprinkler it seems! Angels Angels mentioned freezing fruit and vegetable pieces your horse likes to string their stalls, as well as adding salt or electrolytes to their routine to keep them hydrated.
The Eden Echo is happy to promote a contest to celebrate its revamp! With the generosity of staff and players, we are proud to offer an assortment of prizes. 100k to first place, 50k to second place, art from KPH Equestrian, and straws to my own #13 KNNLB stud Vukasin! This list is bound to change as TEE grows so keep an eye on it! To enter, simply message Thorn with your opinions on a revamp of TEE and your opinions from the forum!
With fall coming up, HEE seems to be abuzz with Eve's latest contest (featured HERE). And it seems the art team has been busy! Teasers of this year's horsie halloween costumes are gorgeous and everyone is loving the attention to detail and more with the pieces. Keep on the lookout for more teasers!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read through the very first issue of The Eden Post (TEP). This starter issue is a test run, mainly to get a feel for the layout, gather feedback, and spark a little more interest in what this paper can become. I want to use any opinins given on this version before the big official released in the next month or so to improve it to something people actually want to read! I truly appreciate everyone who has shown support so far, whether by offering ideas, lending a hand, or simply showing excitement for the project. Your encouragement is what makes this worthwhile. A special thank you goes out to those who helped behind the scenes, you’ve already made TEP better than I imagined when I first started planning it.
This is just the beginning. With your feedback and involvement, The Eden Post can grow into a fun, informative, and creative hub for our community. I hope you’ll continue to follow along, contribute, and share your thoughts as we shape future issues together. I would love to hear more everyone, so either reach out on the official TEP forum or by personally messaging Thorn.
