Cut Out Gingerbread Cookies

Tried and true! Great for any holiday treat!

INGREDIENTS

Butter (very soft) 1 cup

White Sugar 1 cup


In largest bowl cream together on high speed Butter & Sugar

Egg Large 1

Dark Molasses 1 cup

Apple Vinegar 2 Tbsp


Add to Large bowl mixture egg first on medium speed


Combine the following in a separate bowl, Sift and THEN add slowly to the largest bowl on slow speed until all combined

Flour (all-purpose) 5 cups

Baking Soda 1 ½ teas

Salt 1 teas

Ginger 2 teas

Cinnamon 2 teas

Ground Cloves 1 teas


Chill 2 to 3 hours (very important makes dough easier to roll

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat Oven to 375 degrees


Roll 1/8-1/4 thick on a floured counter or board & cut into shapes


Place on greased cookie sheets or on parchment (I recommend parchment)


Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes. Check often! Take out cookies when they have risen and are easily removed from sheets.


Frost as desired (I recommend Royal Icing)
