The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to dePaul, and we need parents to help run it.

Our students are dyslexic. Putting a book in their hands that they picked out — that's a big deal here, and it's worth doing well. The fair runs October 24–30, open before school and after school each day, and all day Friday, October 30 during VIP Day.

What volunteers do:

• Ring up sales and handle the cash box

• Help students find books, and help the ones who need a little coaching to pick something they'll actually love

• Keep the shelves stocked and the tables looking good

• Set up on the first morning, pack down at the end

Shifts are short — most are an hour or so, right at drop-off or pick-up. If you're already sitting in carline, you're already here. No experience needed. We'll show you the register and you'll have it down in five minutes.

Friday, October 30 is our biggest day. The fair is open all day for VIP Day, so grown-ups can shop with their student. We need the most hands that day.

Pop the trunk, pass out the candy, and watch the kids light up. Trunk or Treat is back at the Traditional campus on Friday, October 30, and we need parents to host trunks.

Here's how it works: decorate your trunk however you like — spooky, silly, superhero, whatever your family is into — and hand out candy or treats to our students as they come through. If you can, have a game. A ring toss, a spin wheel, a bean bag game, even a photo spot. Kids remember the trunks where something happens. 

Set-up starts at 1:30 PM. Trunk or Treat begins at 2:00 PM. 

You don't need a big budget or a Pinterest-level build. Some streamers, a theme, and a bowl of candy is a great trunk. Bring enough treats for a steady stream of kids, and plan to stay until we wrap up.

PTO uniforms are free this year. We keep gently used pieces in stock so families can grab what they need without buying new. Browse what's currently available, place an order, or donate outgrown uniforms to help the next family. We may also need a few hands to help at the uniform table during Open House and Curriculum Nights. 

The Board of Trustees is hosting the annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lower School, 2176 Marilyn Street, Clearwater, FL 33759. 👶 Childcare will be provided by staff, so bring the kids.

This is the meeting where you hear directly about the school and take part in the membership and board process. If you can be there, please come. A full room is the clearest way we can show that dePaul parents are engaged and paying attention, and it matters for the year ahead. 💙

One of our favorite weeks of the year is back! Each day brings a new dress-up theme as we come together to celebrate our dePaul community and shine a light on dyslexia awareness. Get creative, show your school spirit, and make some memories with your classmates all week long. 

Classrooms will compete in our Door Decorating Contest throughout the week — winners announced at Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 30! 

Dyslexia affects 1 in 5 people, and dePaul is proud to celebrate the brilliant, creative, and resilient minds of every student who walks through our doors. This week is about more than costumes — it's about community, pride, and showing our students that different thinkers truly do change the world.

Get ready to fill your shelves! Our Scholastic Book Fair runs all week from October 26 through October 30, right in time for Dyslexia Awareness Week. 

This is one of my favorite events of the year. There's something for every reader, from brand new picture books to page-turning chapter books and series your kids will beg to finish. Browsing the fair together is a simple way to get kids excited about reading, and every purchase helps bring more books and resources to our classrooms.

Everyone has that one special person who makes them feel like they can take on the world — and VIP Day is all about celebrating them! Students are invited to bring their very own VIP to campus for a morning they will never forget.

VIPs will enjoy an outdoor lunch with their student and take part in a special activity together. 

Whether it's a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, a family friend, or anyone else who holds a special place in your child's heart, all VIPs are welcome. Come ready to make some memories!

Calling all ghouls, superheroes, and everything in between — it's time for Trunk or Treat! This beloved dePaul tradition brings both campuses together for a spooky, sweet, and unforgettable afternoon. Delta students will be joining us on campus for the day, so expect double the fun and double the candy!

As an extra treat, we will also announce the winners of our Door Decorating Contest at the event — so make sure your classroom brings its A-game this week!

Help us give back this fall! Every dePaul student who brings in one can or shelf-stable food item between November 1 and November 13 will earn a free dress day on November 20th. Boxes will be set up at drop-off and in the front lobby for kids to leave their donations. Please no expired foods. All donations will go to Good Neighbors to support families in our community. Let's fill those bins, dePaul!

The most wonderful time of the year is here and Candy Cane Lane is back to sweeten up the season! Both campuses come together at Traditional for this festive holiday tradition as students walk through a magical lane of decorated trunks, collect treats, and soak in all the holiday cheer before winter break.

December 18– January 29 

Ready, set, read! Kick off the new year with our dePaul Reading Challenge — a fun, month-long celebration of books, stories, and imagination. Every student will receive a Reading Bingo Card filled with a variety of reading adventures to complete throughout the month. Mix it up, get creative, and see how many squares you can check off! 

Every student who completes their bingo card will earn a free dress day pass — because finishing a challenge deserves a reward! The class with the most completed cards at the end of the month wins a pizza party. So rally your classmates and read your hearts out!

 Whether you love mysteries, comics, fairy tales, or nonfiction, there is something on this card for every kind of reader. At dePaul, we know that every student has a unique relationship with reading, and this challenge is all about making it fun, personal, and exciting for everyone. 

Bingo cards and full details will be distributed at the start of the challenge.

We're celebrating 100 days of school in style! Kids are invited to dress up as if they're 100 years old, think gray hair, glasses, and grandma/grandpa sweaters. This is also the last day of our reading challenge, so all our "elderly" scholars should turn in their bingo cards. Let's make it a fun (and fabulous) milestone!

Grab your blankets and get ready for a night under the stars with your dePaul family! Movie Night is a beloved community tradition and one of our favorite evenings of the year. Spread out on the lawn, let the kids run and play before the show, and settle in for a great movie together. 

This is a free, family event open to both campuses — the more the merrier! Come early to get a good spot and soak up the good vibes before the film begins. The PTO will be providing popcorn and water, so all you need to bring is a blanket, your crew, and your best movie night energy!

Get ready to get colorful! Our annual Color Run is one of the most exciting events of the school year — and this year it is also one of our biggest fundraisers. Students will run, laugh, and get absolutely covered in color while raising money that goes directly back to our dePaul community.

Every student is asked to raise at least $10 to participate. Hit bigger milestones and unlock even bigger rewards — there are prizes for students who raise $50, $100, and $500. Start reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors now because every dollar counts!

One of the most anticipated days of the school year is almost here! Field Day is a day packed with friendly competition, teamwork, and pure fun as students take their energy outside for a day of games and activities at a local park.

Upper School, this one is for you! The dePaul PTO is throwing an after-school dance party and we are pulling out all the stops — a live DJ, a photo booth, food, and a theme chosen by YOU. That's right, students will get to vote on the theme so start thinking about what you want this night to look like!

This is your night to celebrate, let loose, and make memories with your classmates before the end of the school year. All you have to do is show up and have the time of your life — we will handle everything else.

Our teachers and staff show up every single day with creativity, patience, and heart — and this is our week to show them just how much it means. Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is one of our favorite weeks of the year because it gives our whole community the chance to pour love back into the people who pour so much into our kids.
