• Daytona Beach City Commissioners have approved a development agreement with online retail giant Amazon to build a 2.8 million sq. ft., five-story complex, built on a 211-acre field right across the street from the Daytona Beach International Airport on Beville Road.

• Halifax District Hospital opened its doors to the community on January 3, 1928. Founded by the state legislature, the hospital began operations with 125 licensed beds.
