The room was dark and humid, the sliding glass doors covered with cool condensation, with the quiet breath of steam slowly curving against the marble tiles.
Warm rivulets of rain spread over me, like a gentle touch whispering down my skin. Water trickled down my hands, before slipping through my fingers, vanishing into the pool below. The rain pattered the shower pan, drifting towards the sleek, jet-black drain. I hugged myself, my breath becoming slower as the mellowness of the water spread warmth over my skin.
The moon peeked through a small window, surrounded by the dark, silky sky. Its projection became blurred by the cozy fog, slowly turning into a distant gray as the Darkness took hold of the room.
It was time. I reluctantly reached for the handle, twisting it downwards until the rain stopped. The hush that followed was thick, almost too heavy. Droplets clung to my skin, frigid cold as the heat wore away. I wrapped a towel around myself, but the warmth already had faded, stolen by the quiet Dark that crept back into the room. The edges were starting to disappear. The names would leave even sooner.
