My ear was still ringing as I leaned my body to the side, struggling to get up. As I lifted my head from the sludge I was covered in, I watched thin viridescent blades of green emerge from the wet, bright yellow gritty ground, slightly skewed to one side. The shower room, what was left of it, had already gone from my head, like the ripples of a pond. All I could remember of it was the soft warmth, the drip of the water on the granite floor, and the glass shards of a breaking window. The air in this room smelt sharp and salty, and a sea of blue mist laid over the hills and valleys. The pond stretched out farther and farther, the slender blades of grass blocking my view of the sloshy wet landscape, with peeks of bright sunlight coming out of the dense mass of neon green.
I got up, slowly, and emerged in a vired meadow, with a muddy, purple towel submerged in the grass near me. "Must be from the previous room", I mumbled. Streaming down a strip of grass, a murky, bubbly brown water pushed its way through the landscapes, ripping away blades of grass. The ripples glistened vivid blue, reflecting the radiant beams of the sun. Lilies swayed in the flow of the water, moving to and fro as a gentle wind caressed the se-sej. The word disappeared from my mouth, floating through the air as the wind slowly whined its way past me. “Sedge”, I said finally, as I looked back towards the intense shine of the sun, which was covered by the damp landscape. It was setting, and the Darkness was starting to linger. Words started to disappear, blades of grass became indescribable streaks of green, and the outline became more and more blurred. I pulled up my muddy overalls to my knees and slowly shoved my way through the wetlands. The Darkness had once again returned, it was time to get going.
