Submission Guidelines:
Include a 1-2 sentence summary about your work and the inspiration behind it. Fiction and non-fiction accepted. Must exclude violent and sexual language/graphics.
All submitted works (including photography and artwork) must have a title.
Word counts and file formats:
Poems: Up to 500 words, must be in Word doc format
Short Stories: Up to 7500 words, must be in Word doc format
Essays: Up to 3000 words, must be in Word doc format
Photography: Up to 5 pictures, must be in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format
Artwork: Up to 5 pieces, must be in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format
Submissions should not be published elsewhere. If under consideration and then accepted elsewhere, you must rescind your submission to The Coffee Shoppe. If accepted by the Coffee Shoppe while under consideration elsewhere, you must rescind your submission to the other literary outlet.
Authors retain full copyright and ownership of their work. Upon acceptance, authors grant The Coffee Shoppe first electronic rights and non-exclusive archival rights. All other rights remain with the authors.
Authors also grant permission to have their accepted work featured on The Coffee Shoppe's official Instagram page for promotional purposes, unless the creator explicitly requests otherwise.
Submissions must be the original work of the author. We do not accept submissions originated, written, or edited by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. By submitting to The Coffee Shoppe, you certify that the work is entirely your own.
