The Coach Tavern has gone by a few similar names over the years, but "Coach" has always been included in it's title.
That's because it was originally a train coach. It was a leftover of the days when the building beside us was a paper (pulp) mill and a railway that led right up to it. Some say that The Coach is still sitting on those rails (hidden from view).
Eventually the coach was converted into a gas station and a diner, then a tavern. In the early 1970's the owners added on to the old coach creating a much bigger building.
The old wooden coach is still under that front face and maybe someday we will be able to restore it. Inside the building you can see some of the original woodwork and other details.
