Once upon a time, in the early days of the pandemic, when people were stocking up on toilet paper and donning their fanciest sweatpants, a hero emerged from the depths of boredom and uncertainty. That hero was none other than Rolling Roman, the accidental DJ extraordinaire. It all started in March 2020, when the world pressed the pause button and Rolling Roman found himself staring at the walls of his living room, desperately searching for something to fill the void. With a little too much time on their hands and a playlist that desperately needed some fresh beats, they had a brilliant, albeit slightly questionable, idea. Armed with a laptop, a pair of headphones, and a wild imagination, Rolling Roman transformed their humble abode into the most exclusive nightclub on the block (population: him). From the comfort of their makeshift DJ booth, consisting of a sturdy stack of board games and a lampshade for added pizzazz, they started spinning tunes like a musical wizard. At first, it was just for fun. A way to keep the sanity intact and pretend they were rocking out in front of thousands of adoring fans. But little did Roman Rolling know that their virtual parties were about to become the hottest ticket in town. Friends and family flocked to their online gatherings, eager to escape the monotony of quarantine and soak up the contagious energy Rolling Roman brought to the digital dancefloor.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Rolling Roman's DJ skills evolved faster than the virus itself. They mixed genres with the grace of a clumsy ballerina, seamlessly transitioning from disco to dubstep. Word of Rolling Roman's legendary quarantine raves began to spread like wildfire (or, more accurately, like a viral TikTok dance challenge). Soon enough, they were getting requests from celebrities, politicians, and even the occasional astronaut stuck on the International Space Station. It seemed that everyone wanted a taste of Rolling Roman's infectious beats and unrivaled enthusiasm. Even as the world began to slowly reopen, Rolling Roman remained committed to their newfound passion. They realized that the world needed a DJ with the power to make people forget about their worries and just dance like nobody was watching (mostly because they were still in their pajamas). And so, Rolling Roman continues to DJ to this day, spreading joy and laughter with each thumping bassline and perfectly timed airhorn. They're a pandemic pioneer, a musical maestro, and the reigning champion of virtual parties. So next time you need an escape from reality or just want to groove in your living room, remember to call Rolling Roman, the DJ who turned a pandemic into the party of a lifetime! 🎉🎧🎶
I do digital and traditional art! I mostly draw oc's (original characters) and kpop artists. I have been doing art since I could hold a pencil. Art is how I can express myself and how I feel. I want to hopefully pursue animation or concept art in the future. I'm excited to share my journey and growth with my art with you!
“My Celestial Phoenix,” custom crafted jewelry, is a celebration of nature, travel, and motherhood. The business, named for my daughter Phoenix Celeste, reflects my creative inspirations in Latin American wire artistry, the abundant diversity found in Nature, and my ability to find value in what is no longer useful to others. I went to tropical America in 2005 in pursuit of research in primate conservation. During my studious travels, I picked up my first set of jewelry pliers and wire and couldn’t stop twisting. After countless hours of forest trekking and beachcombing, I accumulated a unique collection of natural treasures, including feathers, bones, teeth, stones, and seeds.
Since my return to the United States, I have taken root in the Southern Appalachian region and have integrated hand forged pendants, upcycled trinkets, reclaimed beads and local natural treasures into my designs. I have a helper colony of flesh eating beetles that clean my Appalachian bones. A very popular addition to my booth are the “Treasure Trays,” where gallery visitors can can select from my unique and quirky collection of upcycled items and design their own piece of custom made jewelry.
I have a strong environmental and social ethic when I create, using recycled and sustainable materials whenever possible, in addition to minimizing the support of exploitative industries when supplying my materials. I believe that we can adorn ourselves without exploiting others. The natural treasures that I use offer a rich opportunity to educate event goers on local natural history.
