Love, Stupidity, and a Break-In

Hello! This story was written as an adaptation of a session of Masks: Legacy Park, the RPG that these stories were written as background for. There's a lot of additional context around Osmium and Earworm's past and what exactly happened with her team, the Odds and Ends. To summarize, early in the semester Osmium and Earworm became friends but had a falling out. Earworm and the Odds and Ends witnessed the villain Videodrome aka Jess Conway present evidence that V-Tek and Nexus had found inter-dimensional portals and were hiding them from the public. To get closer to V-Tek, Earworm sought out Osmium. In a fit of emotion, she set up a signal jamming device and met with him. They had a contentious conversation ending with her admitting she was going to do something stupid soon, and kissing Osmium on his metal cheek. The Odds and Ends, including the shapeshifting alien Ripple, broke into V-Tek the next night in order to find information on their involvement with inter-dimensional portals with the goal of sending Ripple home. They stole some items, and fled. This is that night from Osmium's perspective.
