Thank you for using The Calendar Widget. We had a lot of fun building it, and we hope you have a lot of fun using it. The Calendar Widget’s mission is to show you your existing calendars on your device in a clean, nice and useful way right on your home screen as a widget.

Scope
This data policy refers to the Android app “The Calendar Widget” (both the full version and the free blue version). We will refer to it by “app” in the following.
Information collected by the app
The app does not collect any personal information. It takes the calendars which are configured in your Android system (e.g. the Google calendars), and shows their events to you in a home screen widget. The only data stored by the app is the configuration you make for your widgets (e.g. which font to use, which colors, etc). All of this configuration is stored locally on your device; it is not transferred by the app to the developers, and the developers cannot access this data at all. It might be that your version of Android stores this config outside of your device as a backup, e.g. in the cloud, but this is functionality outside of the app, and cannot be controlled by the developers, and does not give the developers any access to this data.
The developers cannot access your calendars, the events in your calendars, and we also don’t want to. The only technical permission that the app needs is to read calendars. You are asked to grant this permission upon first use of the app (opt-in); if you grant it, you can use the app as designed; if you do not grant it, you cannot use the app.
If you want to show the actual background image of your home screen in the preview area, the widget will ask you for the respective permission (in the permission system of Android, this is the permission to read files from your device); if you choose not to grant it, then an artificial background image will be used for the preview. There are no other degradations. The permission - if granted - will only be used to get the background image, and for no other purpose..
The app can only be obtained through Android’s built-in app store, the Google Play Store. The Google Play Store records downloads of apps and provides this data in aggregated ways to developers. We use this to learn about the use and distribution of our app. Google’s privacy policy applies. Also, the Google Play Store might offer additional features which involve your contact information, e.g. when you rate the app and give a comment. All of these described features are implemented outside of the app, and the developers are not responsible for it.
How we make changes to this policy
We might change this policy from time to time and if we do, we’ll post any changes here on this page. By continuing to use the product, you agree to the new policy. In case of significant changes, we may provide a more prominent notice, for example right in the app.
