The C.A.R.E. Group Code of Conduct:
1. Practice Compassion
Show empathy and understanding to all members, volunteers, and the community we serve.
Offer support and a helping hand whenever needed.
2. Be Respectful
Treat everyone with respect, regardless of background, opinions, or abilities.
Use kind words and refrain from gossip, negativity, or hurtful language.
3. Promote Inclusivity
Make sure everyone feels welcome and included in group activities.
Celebrate diversity and be open to different ideas and perspectives.
4. Be an Active Listener
Pay attention when others are speaking and avoid interrupting.
Value everyone’s input and acknowledge their ideas.
5. Lead by Example
Model kindness, generosity, and altruism in your behavior.
Show leadership through actions that align with the group’s mission to raise awareness and empower others.
6. Stay Committed
Be dedicated to the goals and objectives of C.A.R.E.
Attend meetings, participate in events, and fulfill responsibilities in a timely manner.
7. Maintain Integrity
Be honest in all interactions, whether with group members or community partners.
Ensure transparency in all fundraising or volunteering activities.
8. Resolve Conflicts Peacefully
Approach disagreements calmly and respectfully.
Seek to understand the other person’s point of view and find constructive solutions.
9. Protect Our Environment
Ensure that all events and activities promote sustainability and are eco-friendly.
Take steps to minimize waste and promote recycling during fundraisers or community gatherings.
10. Support Team Spirit
Foster a collaborative and positive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Encourage teamwork and celebrate both individual and group achievements.
C.A.R.E. Group Zero-Tolerance Rules
(Could Result in Removal):
1. No Bullying or Harassment
Any form of bullying, harassment, or intimidation (physical, verbal, or online) toward group members or others will not be tolerated.
Discriminatory comments or actions based on race, gender, religion, ability, or background
2. No Physical or Verbal Abuse
Engaging in or threatening any form of violence, including physical altercations or verbal abuse, will lead to expulsion.
Intentional harm to others in any form is strictly prohibited.
3. No Theft or Misuse of Funds
Misappropriating, stealing, or mishandling group funds or resources for personal gain will result in immediate dismissal.
Transparency and honesty in handling any group finances or donations is mandatory.
4. No Vandalism or Property Damage
Destruction or defacement of property during any group activities or events will result in removal.
Respect for public and private property is expected at all times.
5. No Spreading Malicious Rumors or False Information
Deliberately spreading false rumors or harmful misinformation about the group, its members, or others is strictly prohibited.
Intentional damage to reputations through gossip or slander will lead to dismissal.
6. No Disruptive Behavior
Repeatedly causing disruptions in meetings, events, or group functions with intent to sabotage or undermine the group’s mission will result in removal.
Maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere is essential.
7. No Illegal Activities
Engaging in any illegal activities (e.g., underage drinking, drug use, or criminal acts) while representing C.A.R.E. or during group events is grounds for immediate expulsion.
Members must follow the law at all times when involved in group activities.
8. No Disrespect Towards Authority Figures
Disrespecting supervisors, community leaders, or other authority figures during group activities
Cooperation with event organizers and respect for leadership is required.
9. No Breach of Confidentiality
Sharing confidential information about group members, private conversations, or group planning without consent
Respecting the privacy of others is paramount.
10. No Undermining the Group’s Mission
Acts or behaviors that directly go against the values of C.A.R.E. (Compassion, Altruism, Raise, and Empower) or harm the group’s reputation will not be tolerated.
Members must align with the group’s mission to contribute positively to the community.
Job Requirements (Only for NJ Chapter)
(if not met could result in removal from position):
1. President
Lead all members and ensure the group runs smoothly.
Oversee all events, projects, and activities to ensure efficiency.
Enforce the group’s rules and maintain discipline.
Act as the main point of contact for any major decisions.
Lead group meetings.
2. Vice President
Assist the president with any needs or responsibilities.
Support all members, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.
Take over leadership duties in the president’s absence.
Help coordinate group activities and ensure deadlines are met.
3. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Keep track of all group finances, including funds from events and donations.
Log and maintain records of volunteer and service hours.
Keep track of who is attending meetings as event participants.
Oversee the budget and ensure that money is spent responsibly.
Work with Lead of Communications for keeping track of sponsorships and partnerships.
4. IT Director + Website Designer
Regularly update and maintain the group’s website, ensuring information is current.
Fix any technical bugs or issues with the website or group software.
Add new chapters to the website as the group expands.
Find user-friendly ways to display group materials and event details on the website.
5. Secretary
Record meeting minutes and keep an accurate log of all decisions made.
Write and publish blogs on the group’s website.
Ensure that all meetings are well-documented and that action items are followed up on.
6. Lead Social Media Director
Frequently post on social media platforms (at least once or twice a week), even when no major events are happening.
Post updates, stories, and content to engage with the community.
Continue posting on Instagram and reach out to new audiences to expand the group’s presence.
7. Co-Lead Opportunity Finder
Present at least 3 volunteer or fundraising opportunities biweekly to the group.
Organize group members to attend events, ensuring everyone is involved.
Take initiative to find new events and opportunities for community service.
Keep an active eye out for events that align with the group’s mission.
8. Lead Recruiter
Create and design flyers for events and recruitment.
Actively recruit new members at events by promoting the C.A.R.E. Group’s mission.
Continuously work to expand the group’s audience by talking to attendees at events and networking.
9. Lead of Communications
Make calls to local businesses, community leaders, and potential partners.
Conduct outreach to build relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Coordinate with external parties for collaborations or sponsorships.
10. ALL MEMBERS
Always be on the lookout for new community service, volunteering, or fundraising opportunities.
If you discover a potential opportunity, report it to the Lead Opportunity Finder so the group can participate.
Talk positively about the C.A.R.E. Group and share its mission to raise awareness in the community.
Encourage people you know such as family and friends to join the group by referring them to our methods of contact
Actively participate in group events, meetings, and activities to stay connected and contribute to the group’s mission.
Demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and leadership through your actions, setting an example for others.
Offer assistance and support to fellow members and new recruits as needed.
Keep open communication with group leaders, providing feedback, ideas, and staying informed about group activities.
Uphold the group’s values by behaving respectfully and professionally at events and in the community.
Show dedication to the C.A.R.E. Group’s mission by being consistent, reliable, and enthusiastic about group initiatives.
Election Rules:
(Only for NJ Chapter)
Set of requirements for members who wish to run for a position in the Board or Leads
Member must have attended 60% of the events (meetings, sales, etc.) since they joined
Member must be active (replying)
Member must be part of the group for 3 or more months
Members can run for as many positions as they want
Every year will hold lead position elections
Every 4 years will hold executive board member elections
