We have been working for over twenty years in the heart of Tadcaster, North Yorkshire to improve the lives of children, young people and their families so that they feel valued, loved, and empowered to live life to the full.
We are a qualified team with a range of skills and experiences, motivated by our Christian faith. All of our groups (whether faith-based or not) are open to people from all backgrounds. Thereby creating a space that reduces isolation, builds community, and inspires people to make good life choices and discover their value.
To achieve our aims, we provide a wide variety of children’s, youth, and family activities including work in local primary and secondary schools. Our regular activities include a youth drop-in; an after-school club; self-esteem courses; a parents' group, youth church, and a range of topical programmes giving young people are voice.
The Bridge Project Tadcaster's Constitution states that our objects, as a Community Interest Group are:
to advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the trustees see fit from time to time, in particular but not exclusively: 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 to assist in the advancement of education of young people from a Christian perspective;
to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation for individuals and families who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life;
to help young people, especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved; and
