About us
The B.A Fashion Institute is a private fashion institution offering exclusive one on one classes to African creatives. We are a subsidiary of the Kenyan Fashion Brand Barbara Accessories on a mission to change the status quo of Kenyan fashion education by focusing on relevant technical skills and competencies that will help creative achieve economic sustainability across Africa.
There are numerous reports that have been published regarding Fashion Education in Kenya for the last 20 years and how it is not addressing the needs of the Textile and Apparel Sector of Kenya. The Problem we are addressing as an institution is an outdated Kenyan Fashion Curriculum that is not equipping Kenyan Fashion Graduates with the Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required to run fashion businesses or secure employment within the Textile and Apparel Sector of Kenya.
The B.A Fashion Institute is awaiting its accreditation as a TVET institution.

Approach to Training
Approach to Training
We offer exclusive one on one classes with a maximum of four trainees per class for effective learning.
In regards to our approach to training, we have implemented a modern approach that focuses on 50% Industry Learning and 50% Online Learning.
Our Short course in Pattern Drafting and Garment construction is held within the Industry as opposed to the traditional classroom learning. We have partnered with two tailoring shops within Nairobi CBD where we hold our practical fashion trainings. Industry Learning has been tested and proven globally, to improve trainees technical skills, employability skills and knowledge of a particular Industry.
Online trainings on the other hand are not only convenient but have also been proven to be as effective as in-person trainings. We utilize a Learning Management System that allows us to effectively track our students progress and provided them with links for further learning.
