1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the AI Detector ("the App") collects and processes data. We provide forensic-grade AI analysis for educational and research purposes.
2. Data Collection & Processing
To provide our forensic analysis services, we collect the following:
Forensic Samples: Text or images submitted for analysis are sent via 256-bit SSL encryption to the Google Gemini API.
Transitional Data: We do not store your forensic samples on our permanent servers. They are processed in active memory to generate your report and then purged from the session cache.
Account Information: We collect your Full Name and Email Address via Firebase Authentication to manage your account and forensic history.
Fraud Prevention Identifier: We collect a unique Hardware Identifier (Device ID) solely to verify Free Trial eligibility.
3. Data Retention & Storage
We adhere to the principle of data minimization:
Forensic Reports: Your generated forensic reports are stored in your private account history until you choose to delete them.
Active Account Data: Your name and email are retained as long as your account remains active.
Eligibility Registry: A unique device identifier is retained in a secure registry. This identifier is pseudonymized — it cannot be used to identify you personally, but it allows us to prevent free trial abuse across multiple accounts on the same device.
4. Your Rights & Data Deletion
We provide you with full control over your personal information:
Account Deletion: You may initiate account deletion at any time via the "Delete Account" button in your Account settings, or by contacting us at support@the-ai-detector.com.
Purge Process: Upon deletion, your name, email address, and account data are permanently removed from our systems within 7 business days.
Retention Exception: In accordance with our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, the unique device identifier associated with your device remains in our verification registry solely to ensure that a single device cannot claim multiple free trials. This data is not linked to your personal identity and is not used for any other purpose.
5. Data Safety & Third Parties
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS.
No Sale of Data: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or submitted content to third parties.
AI Service Providers: We use the Google Gemini API to perform AI analysis on submitted images and text. Please refer to https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms for details on how submitted data is handled by Google.
Payment Processing: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat processes transaction data on our behalf. Please refer to https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy for details.
6. International Data Transfers & GDPR Compliance
As a UK-based entity, we comply with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and EU GDPR.
Legal Basis: We process data based on Contractual Necessity (to provide your report) and Legitimate Interest (security).

Automated Decision-Making: All reports are advisory tools for human review only. We do not use "solely automated" decision-making with legal effects.
Your Rights: You have the right to Access, Rectify, Erase ("Right to be Forgotten"), Object, and Data Portability.
7. Forensic Disclaimer
Results are probabilistic. Users should not rely solely on this app for legal or disciplinary actions without secondary human verification. AI-Detector is a supplementary analysis tool.
