Speechelo is a text-to-speech software that was created to generate human sounding voice-overs for Sales Videos, Explainer Videos, Training Videos, Educational Videos, Presentations, etc., for people who don't want to use their own voice. The Idea is that you don't have to feel awkward about recording your voice on your videos for whatever reason you may have.

It’s claimed Speechelo is easy to use for anyone who wants to add a third-party voice-over to their videos with ease. The price of the software is reasonably affordable, making it possible for anyone to take advantage of Speechelo's offered features.

How to use Speechelo

Once you sign up to Speechelo, you’ll have access to an explainer video.

Here’s basically how Speechelo works.

Once you are logged in:

1. First write or paste your text into Speechelo’s online text editor

2. Select the voice engine (voice generator) you want to use

3. Select the language and voice you want to use (each voice can be previewed as you select them)

4. Depending on the voice engine used, edit the inflections in the voice where necessary

5. Preview the voice-over to listen to the quality (edit where needed)

6. Once you are happy, hit generate voice-over

7. From there you can download the voice-over if required.

Types of memberships on offer

Speechelo offers three types of memberships: Standard, Pro and Worldwide.

• Standard membership offers 30 voices.

• Pro membership upgrade offers 60 voices.

• Worldwide membership offers more voices than Pro and you have the ability to import YouTube captions and convert them into voice-overs.

Voice quality

The quality of the Speechelo voices available varies. Not all of the voices on offer are of equal high quality but starting with over 30 voices to choose from, you’ll find Speechelo gives you a lot of choices so that you can select which voices are right for your needs.

There are two choices of voice engine (voice generator) but you’ll find that some languages only have the standard voice option. The standard voice engine generates your text to speech in a normal tone of voice. You can manually add breathing, emphasize words, add pauses and adjust speech. The AI voice engine, gives three options for the tone of voice generated and you can add pauses. You can choose a normal tone, friendly tone or serious tone. Speechelo advise you don’t enter too much text at one time so it makes it much easier to edit the voice-over as needed. There’s a limit of 5,000 characters on the Standard version and 20,000 characters on the Pro version. The playback speed of the voice-over can also be adjusted to faster or slower in sections or on individual words.

Language availability

Speechelo offers text to speech generation in English and 23 additional languages. The website has example audio files for you to listen to featuring a number of voices in various languages. A full list of the voices in the languages available is also displayed.

Ease of use

As far as ease of use is concerned, I found Speechelo scored high here. It is really straightforward and easy to use. The training video will help you get started creating voice-overs in a very short time.

Software compatibility

The makers of Speechelo claim the software works with any video creation software. Once your voice-over is ready, the audio file can be downloaded and you can import it in your favourite video editor such as Camtasia, Premiere Pro, Audacity, iMovie or as the makers claim, any video creation software.

Cost/value for money

At the time of writing this review, Speechelo is usually $100 but they are currently offering a $53 discount. Currently, the price of the Standard product is $47 as a one-time payment. Once the launch special ends, Speechelo will only be offered for $100 as a one-time payment or as a subscription for $67 a month. Speechelo comes with a 60-day money back guarantee.

I think the current price of $47 is good value for money. As I have said, not all of the voice quality on offer is equal but having such a wide choice of voices and with the editing tools you can use, a range of voices can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Pros

1. Speechelo is a good solution if you don’t want to use your own voice on your videos/audio files

2. Speechelo saves time. Once you have your audio script as text, you can create voice-overs in minutes

3. Good for Sales Videos, Explainer videos, Training Videos, Educational Videos, Presentation videos, Audio Books and more

4. Saves money. Professional voice-overs can cost 10s-100s of dollars every time you need them.

Cons

1. As said, all of the voices available are not of equal high quality. Despite this, there are a wide choice of voices available or voices can be adjusted manually using the standard voice engine.

Conclusion

The Pros far out way the Cons and in my opinion, I would recommend Speechelo as a voice-to-text tool. It’s great value for money and you can try it risk free for 60 days.
