全美臺灣客家文化基金會 (Taiwanese Hakka Culture Foundation of America)一年一度的 "客家傑出青少年獎學金" 開始接受報名。這個獎學金的目的在鼓勵客家莘莘學子努力向學的同時，也不忘客家母語及文化的認同。錄取名額共五名， 得獎者除了可獲得 $500 獎學金與獎狀外，歷年來幫助了無數得獎者進入美國名校，繼續為其燦爛的前程邁進。

** 申請資格

   大華府地區或其他地區高中生（2026 年 7 月 31 日之前完成10年級或11年級）且符合以下條件者皆可申請

1. 大華府區客家同鄉會會員子女

2. 大華府客家桐花合唱團團員子女

3. 客家子弟或認同客家 

** 評審標準

   評估申請者學業成績，體育、音樂、藝術的各項表現，還有社區服務及領袖特質

** 申請方式及必備文件

1. 請到全美臺灣客家文化基金會網站 2026 Application Form  填寫申請表，完成後點擊  <Submit>。按 <Submit> 後將滑鼠移至表格頂部獲取 '確認' 信息。

2. 電子郵件送交成績單及中英文皆可的兩頁論文（double-spaced , 論文描述你對客家文化的體驗，或是對客家傳統和客家人的認知....等）  郵電地址： thcfa.chair@gmail.com 

** 報名截止日期為 2026年8月15日，申請者如未繳交必備文件則一概不受理

** 得獎者名單將於 2026年10月1日 公佈，頒獎典禮將於2027年年初客家同鄉會年會時舉行 ( 場地如有變化會另行通知 )，得獎學生或其父母需參加頒獎典禮，也將被邀請在頒獎典禮上表演才藝及演講總共3分鐘，並說至少兩句客家話。

** BACKGROUND **

Sponsored by the Taiwanese Hakka Culture Foundation of America, the Outstanding Hakka Youth Award was established to encourage students to fully develop their potential in areas of their interest. A maximum of five scholarship awards per year, each consisting of a certificate and $500, will be granted to outstanding high school students of Hakka heritage in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

** ELIGIBILITY **

Applications are open to high school students who complete the 10th or 11th grade by July 31, 2026. Applicants must be a child of a member of  

1) the Hakka Association in the Washington Metropolitan Area, or

2) the Hakka TungFa Chorus of Greater Washington DC, or  

3) the Hakka ancestry or recognize Hakka 

** SELECTION CRITERIA **

Applicants will be evaluated on scholastic, athletic, music, and artistic achievements, as well as community service and leadership qualities.

** APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING MATERIALS **

Please submit the following:

1.     Completed 2026 Application Form

2.     Copy of up-to-date high school transcript

3.     Two-page double-spaced essay, either Chinese or English, reflecting on your personal experiences as a Hakka descendant. Topics can be on: Hakka culture, Hakka traditions, and/or Hakka identity.

**DEADLINE  **

The deadline to submit the application and supporting materials is August 15, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline or that are missing supporting materials will not be considered.

*** AWARD TIMING ***

Awards will be announced no later than October 1, 2026, and be presented at the Hakka Association's Annual Meeting in early 2027 (further notice if arrangement change). The awardee (or parent) must make an appearance at the annual meeting to accept the award.  The student will be invited to do a talent performance, give a speech and is encouraged to speak at least two sentences in Hakka at the award ceremony for no more than 3 minutes.
