Mizuhara was looking amazing today, more stunning than usual. In Kazuya’s mind, he couldn’t stop gushing, thinking, “She’s way too perfect, way too cute,” with six whole pages of endless praise running through his head. But he got so lost in staring at her that he forgot to actually say the words “you’re cute” out loud. This reminded him of a past conversation with Mini, making him regret it so much that he spent three whole pages dwelling on this missed chance.
Just as Kazuya’s eyes were welling up from frustration, Chizuru asked, “Are you sure Ruka will be okay?” Surprised, Kazuya looked at her, and Chizuru explained, “I feel a little guilty about it… if she finds out, it wouldn’t be good.” Touched, Kazuya thought, “Mizuhara’s been concerned about Ruka all along,” and he replied, “Ruka’s just going to school today, so it should be fine.”
With renewed determination, Kazuya promised himself to make this date a success since Mizuhara was taking risks for it too. When they arrived at the station, he wanted to help hold the umbrella, but Chizuru stopped him, saying they’d probably need it again later anyway. Inside the packed train, Kazuya started to panic, as he hadn’t practiced handling this kind of situation. But to protect Chizuru from the nearby older men, he moved closer, determined to shield her.
