By downloading and installing or using this application provided to the user, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. They are subject to change at any point in time.

The app, Tharwa, is provided to you without warranty of any kind, implied or expressed, as is. The developer will try their best, however, not all data may be accurate, and therefore there is no insurance or guarantee over this accuracy of any kind. The developer is not responsible and cannot be held accountable for any misinformation/incorrect data found within this app, and therefore damages of any kind that may have incurred.

The developer has the right to change the app, and everything related to it, in any way that they see fit. They hold the right to change any aspect within the app itself, which may include but not limited to: add, remove any features/capabilities, services provided by the app, such as backup and logins, and update/not update data within the app.

At Tharwa ("we", "us", or "our"), we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your financial and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we access, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Access & Collect

Tharwa is an offline-first application. We do not create user accounts on our servers, and we do not collect personal usage data for advertising purposes.

Google User Data (Restricted Scopes): If you choose to connect your Google Account, Tharwa requests specific permissions ("scopes") to provide core features:

• Gmail Read-Only: We access your emails only to identify and parse transaction alerts from banks and financial institutions. We do not read personal emails, promotional content, or spam.

• Google Drive: We access your Google Drive only to upload and retrieve encrypted backups of your Tharwa database. We cannot see or access other files in your Google Drive.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data accessed from your device and Google Account solely for the app's functionality:

• Transaction Parsing: Emails are scanned locally on your device to extract transaction details (Merchant, Amount, Date). This allows us to automate your expense tracking.

• Data Backup: Your budget and transaction history are uploaded to your personal Google Drive so you can restore your data if you lose your device.

We do not use your Google User Data for serving advertisements, and we do not use it for surveillance or data mining.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not share, transfer, or disclose your Google User Data to any third parties.

• No Third-Party Access: We do not sell your data to data brokers, advertisers, or market research firms.

• No Human Access: No human (including the developers of Tharwa) reads your emails. Parsing is done entirely by algorithms on your local device.

• Developer Access: The developer receives no data from your device unless you explicitly send a feedback email or crash report.

4. Data Protection Mechanisms

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your sensitive data:

• Encryption in Transit: All communication between the app and Google’s servers occurs via secure, encrypted HTTPS (SSL/TLS) connections.

• Local Processing: Transaction parsing occurs locally on your device. Your raw email data is never sent to our servers.

• Secure Storage: Backups stored on Google Drive are subject to Google's robust security infrastructure. Local database files are protected by your device's operating system sandbox.

5. Google API Services Usage Disclosure

Tharwa's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Retention: Your data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear the app data. Google Drive backups remain in your Drive until you manually delete them.

• Deletion: You can disconnect your Google Account at any time within the app settings. Since we do not maintain central servers with your user account, deleting the app from your device removes all local data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Tharwa is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
