Thanh Huynh is an associate professor of finance at Monash University, where he joined in 2016. In addition to his academic role, Thanh dedicated over a year to the industry as a full-time senior quantitative analyst at Cbus Super Fund during his tenure at Monash. In this capacity, he assumed responsibility for diverse aspects of quantitative research, including alpha generation, risk management, and the formulation of research-driven solutions to address challenges in equities portfolio construction.

Thanh's research has been published in leading journals including the Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Review of Accounting Studies, Critical Finance Review, the Journal of Corporate Finance, and the Journal of Banking and Finance. Thanh earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of New South Wales and a PhD in finance from Queensland University of Technology.
