Planning
To design a currency, one must understand how currency work generally. Luckyly I am a currency collector and spend a lot of time looking and studying them. First, we need to identify the problem with the current design. To note, I will be heavily refering to my experience with using this currency system and occasionally refering to reddit for comments and criticisms.
Problem with the Current Design
Coins
all coins have the same design other than the denomination marks
the issue with coins having the same design is the issue of monotonaity, all the coins having similar designs will also be an issue for those hard of sight.
all coins have similar sizes especially 2b. and 1b. which use to have the same color.
25st. and 50st. have become all-in-purposes not used in everyday life
the issue with this is that convinience stores and banks will give you these denominations, but you can't use them at any vendors and stores.
not representative of the Thai as a whole.
burdensome to carry and use
Banknotes
all of the obverse side have the same design other than the denomination marks
all of the banknotes contain the same theme, though alone not a bad thing.
the issue is that currency, in my opinion, is suppose to represent who ever is going to be using it, and only representing the historical side is not sufficient.
Solutions
Knowing some of the problems which one may encounter, next is to come out with a soloution.
