Preparing for the Workshop
Preparing for the Kick-Off
In-person Participants
Before the event, please:
Fill out this survey that will help us 'tune' the conference logistics to your needs ( < 2-5 minutes )
Fill out the field boundary data survey which will enable us to have higher-bandwidth collaboration by making clear the concrete details of how each organization organizes their data. (Quick in the hands of the right person ;) )
One person from each organization should fill out their section in the Organization Introduction doc. This document will speed up our collaboration by giving the workshop participants a deeper sense of who is attending and what their interests are.
You can find the current agenda for the event here.
Remote Participants
Before the event, please have someone from your organization fill out:
The field boundary data survey, which aims to gather all the concrete details of how each organization organizes their data. It should be quick when it's in the hands of the right person ;)
Your section in the Organization Introduction doc. This will speed up our collaboration by giving the workshop participants a deeper sense of who is attending and what their interests are.
We have 3 sessions set up for remote participation while we’re in St. Louis. We hope these sessions will give you the groundwork -- both intellectually and socially -- for fruitful collaboration as the initiative progresses and we switch to remote-first (think GitHub) interactions for all collaboration.
The sessions are invite-only and you should have received calendar invites with information on how to join. If you haven't, please email a conference organizer.
Tuesday Feb 27, 9:30am (CST) - Org Intros & Data Schema World Tour: The proper kick-off to the workshop, where we’ll get a sense of every organization (over 20!) participating, their interest in field boundaries and key use cases. After org introductions we’ll shift into jointly digging into the results of the field boundary survey (details below) to center everyone on the concrete details of field boundary data today.
Tuesday Feb 27, 2:00pm (CST) - Building Momentum in Architectures of Participation for Ag Data. This will be a remote-first ‘small group’ session led by Jed Sundwall of Radiant Earth. The exact topic will be determined by who shows up, but we hope to get help mapping out the landscape of organizations that should be involved in collaborative ag data efforts, and create a strategy for getting them involved.
Wednesday Feb 28, 1:00pm (CST) - Reporting Outcomes & Next Steps. The full group shares what was accomplished at the workshop and what the plan for the next six months is. Please join this session, and we hope to share ideas for how remote participants can continue to build momentum and play a bigger role in the community.
