Our brand new virtual match engine simulates the results of a game based on our statistical data so you can try to beat the odds or follow your gut to win.
Our engine starts by using our goal likelihood calculator and giving a number of goals to each team, this will decide who the winner of a match is as well as how many chances to score and assist that team has. The teams scores are independent, so Everton scoring 4 doesn't make it more likely for wolves to score a high or low number of goals.
These stats are posted on the home page of this site.
Next the goals and assists from that match are tied to a player using the odds below, so the higher % means the higher likelihood of scoring. In our engine it is possible for a goal to be given as having no assist - just like real life. So make sure to think hard about which team will score the most and which player could get that all important goal.
Next a player is assigned a base score from the options they are able to achieve which can be seen on the stats table above- this uses a detailed code called the 'TF Realism Scorer'. This new mechanism is built to adjust the likelihood of a player achieving a high or low base score depending on their teams result. For example if the engine came out with a result that said Liverpool won 3-0 then the engine would increase the likelihood of Salah achieving the higher base score options available to him, the opposite would occur with Arsenal players.
Then finally the engine assigns dribbles (2 points per dribble), tackles (1 point per tackle) and crosses (0.5 per cross) to a player and all these scores are then added together to give a final score for each player.
