The conference calls for a heightened focus on 7 topics including:

1. Globalization and educational policies,
2. Globalization and curriculum,
3. Globalization and teacher education,
4. Globalization and schooling,
5. Globalization and higher education,
6. Globalization and social justice ,
7. Other perspectives on globalization from sociology of education.

Special attention is also paid to comparative studies concerning if countries and regions at different developmental stages face different challenges, and/or whether they come up with contextualized strategies toward the same challenges. The conference invites expanded discussions and new examples in this regard.
