Below is a list of the ranks and their requirements in the Rangers. To be promoted you must meet the following criteria:
Time in Service (Calculated by Ops Attended).
I.E. SPC requires 8 weeks TIS so that would be 8 Ops attended.
Complete the required training and certification/qualifications.
I.E. CPL/SGT requires completion of Ranger School.
Recommendation of Leadership (Chain of Command).
Has completed the interview process and is currently rostered in a RASP class.
Has graduated RASP and is now a member of TFC and is assigned a position in 1/75.
Has been in the unit for 4 weeks and has completed their Advanced Individual Training.
Is one of the senior squad members and has shown exemplary experience and leadership qualities. Must have 8 weeks TIS and completed Advance CQB Level 2 and the Land Navigation Course. (See general training in Training)
A corporal is an E-4 who is getting ready to take a team leader spot, or has yet to earn his E-5 as a TL. Has to complete all SPC criteria as well as complete Ranger School.
An E-5 Sergeant is the prime example of what it means to be a Ranger, they display the characterisitics that make a great leader. To get this rank there has to be a TL slot available, 12 weeks TIS, and you have to have the following completed:

Land Navigation Course
Ranger School
DEMO
ACQB Level 3
Leadership Recommendation
An E-6 Staff Sergeant takes command of the squad and has to be able to conduct missions with his squad independent of the rest of the platoon. To become a Staff Sergeant you have to have a TIS of 20 weeks, have all of the TL promotion criteria along with:
Advanced Leadership Course
Jumpmaster/Rappelmaster
Assistant RASP Instructor Qualified
The SFC is the senior NCO in the platoon and is prepares to lead the Rangers in the PLs absence. Has to set the standard for the other NCOs to follow. Coordinates, plans, and conducts training for the rangers. No TIS requirement, but is the senior NCO when this slot opens up. Has to have the following qualifications:
Primary RASP Instructor
Ranger School Instructor
25U Qualified
DEMO Instructor
A tried and battlehardened PSG. Has proved that he is capable of running the platoon through thick and thin. Has mastered everything Ranger.
Is learning the ropes of what it means to lead a ranger platoon. Must have met all criteria to be promoted to E-7. Must also complete OLC (Officer Leaders Course).
Has mastered platoon operations, strategic and logistical command and is ready to lead the rangers into any situation in the Platoon leaders absence.
Is the OIC (Officer in Charge) of the ranger platoon. Is responsible for the planning, logistics, and general welfare of the Ranger platoon.
