Hello TFB Family,
My name is Noah Sacdalan and I am junior trumpet player and drum major in the Franklin Band. We're currently learning popular movie tunes for the upcoming POPS Concert, while learning literature for the Spring Concert. For Symphonic Band, these tunes include Lord Tullamore and Our Director, which may sound familiar to those of you attending the concert.
While school can be trying this time of year, coming to the band room is hype!
Although my Junior Year is coming to end soon, I'm still looking forward to what's left in the fourth quarter and what's to come my Senior Year.
Sincerely,
Noah
The March TFB Booster (ALL Franklin band parents) Meeting will be this coming Tuesday, March 29th at 7:00pm in the Band Room. Come hear about our spring concerts, the car wash, and more. See you there!

Franklin Band Members and Families,
Each spring we gather together to celebrate friendships, share our successes, and take a momentary look back at our accomplishments as we prepare for the future. Last year we were unable to continue our band banquet tradition due to the pandemic, however we are planning to have a full banquet again in 2022! During the banquet outstanding band members are recognized, awards are given at all grade levels, and all band seniors are presented as they share memories of their years as part of the Franklin Band. This is a wonderful event that you will not want to miss!
The Annual Spring Band Banquet will be held at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs on Sunday, May 1st, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6pm).
All are invited to attend! A plated 3 course meal is provided. Tickets are $50 per person** and required for entrance and must be pre-purchased. Senior students whose band accounts are current will receive a free banquet ticket, compliments of the band boosters, but they must be reserved in advance.
Deadline to purchase tickets is March 31, 2022. Please go to the Insider section of the band website to order tickets (link: https://thefranklinband.org/fhs-band-banquet-ticket-order-form/)
*Please check your Charms email regarding the band banquet (Titled "Spring Band Banquet Ticket Ordering Now Available" and sent 11/6/2021 at 11:44AM) for further information on how to access the Insider section if you cannot remember the insider username and password.
**Scholarships are available for students if you cannot afford Banquet Tickets. Please contact Mrs. Vogt if this is the case for you (briana.vogt@wcs.edu)
SENIOR PARENTS: I will be asking you for 3 digital photos of your senior student - 1) a baby photo 2) a band photo and 3) a senior portrait
PLEASE email me these 3 photos to franklinbandevents@gmail.com and put your student's name and "senior photos" in the subject line.
THANK YOU,

All-State Band weekend is scheduled for April 27-30th, 2022 at Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Nashville.
Students received their music via Google Classroom. All-State Chair Placements will take place virtually this year; these excerpts will be released to students shortly. In the meantime, students should prepare all of the music they were given. If students need help with accessing quality audio recording gear, they should schedule a time to record with Mrs. V in the band room during their lunch or after school. The message below was shared 3/3/22 to All-State Students via the "Mid-State 2021" Google Classroom:
----
Good Morning,
This post applies to All-State students only! In order to receive your All-State music, you must complete the following form:
https://form.jotform.com/213345024484047
Please read the All-State Handbook for all event details:
https://www.tnmea.org/_files/ugd/23721c_9ccdffd0de88491097e7f11907a2ec18.pdf
Directors are registering you all and TFB Boosters are covering the cost of your registration. Please inform your parents that you are responsible for the cost of lodging/food for the duration of the event. We have reserved hotel rooms for each of you (sharing 4 students p/room) and will share that cost with you all soon.
Important updated information:
**All-State students need to turn in a check to Mrs V for $174.36 and made out to TFB Band Boosters. Again, this cost is for the hotel only.
**Students should bring money to cover their own meals for the duration of the All-State weekend. Bring money to cover NINE meals.
**Students/families will need to provide their own transportation to and from All-State which is at Opryland Hotel. Parents may want to consider discussing carpooling (if needed) in the All-State GroupMe. Contact Leslie Varden to be added to this GroupMe if you have not yet joined.
**If you are someone who cannot attend All-State due to cost concerns, please have your parents email or call me and we will work something out so that you may attend.
Congratulations again!!
-Mrs. V
Franklin Band Family,
Here are the dates for the upcoming band booster (all band parents) meetings to get down on your calendars. See you there!
Tuesday March 29th
Tuesday April 19th
Tuesday May 31st (Kick off meeting!)
Please take note that the Meal Train dates have changed for the Sacdalans. The days for meals have been reduced to two nights per week. Thank you for all of the meals already delivered and those to come. TFB family takes care of its own!
https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/wzwkge
One of the things that sets the TFB parent group apart from others is the way we care for one another. In ways both big and small, we are always there for each other. it doesn't matter if you know the parent or family well or even if you've never actually met...we are still family.
Dana was admitted to the hospital in December after a brief illness. Many tests and scans later determined a diagnosis of cancer. One particular chemotherapy treatment somehow caused Dana to have some seizures, and that has complicated her recovery. After being discharged from the hospital Dana spent some time in a rehab facility to help strengthen her body and prepare her to be as strong as possible so that her body can be at its absolute best to fight this disease. While recovering at home Dana will also be undergoing more chemotherapy treatments for the next few months.
At this moment the main thing we can do is take some of the burden of everyday meals off the shoulders of Dana and Manny so they can concentrate on Dana's health and the well-being of Noah and Olivia. As time goes on there may be more opportunities for us to support the Sacdalan family, and as those come up we will let you all know. Thank you all so much for being that support already with prayers and cards and well wishes. This truly is what makes TFB family so amazing!
If you have any questions please contact RoseMary Muirhead at 615-815-6125.
Hi everyone. I wanted to write thank you notes to each of you individually but the use of my right hand is still impaired. So I wanted to send a message to you all and tell you how grateful I am for the meals and the cards. Your prayers mean so much to me and my family. I'm still in the midst of the battle but knowing I have this beautiful band family means more than you can imagine. ❤
***Please remember that dates on calendar are subject to change according to availability of facilities, etc. If you decide to print out the calendar, please remember to constantly check back the updated Director's Calendar online (see below) as dates/times/locations can and frequently will change!
***TFB Kick-off camp begins the Tuesday after Memorial Day. This is the time we welcome our upcoming 9th grade band students, introduce our show, work on drill, etc. Please do NOT schedule vacation May 31st-June 4th, as this is an extrememly important beginning to our band season.
***Band Camp (location TBD) will be July 17th-21st. This is required for all band students. Since there will also be rehearsals beginning in the month of July, please try to schedule family vacations during the month of June to avoid missing rehearsal.
The directors are working toward the final summer calendar for all other dates.
The Franklin Band is well-known and respected for being a kind and courteous program. So says Melissa Gufston-Hines of the O'Fallon HS Band, "We love when we get to see the folks of the Franklin Band at shows because we can always count on them being so classy."
Franklin Band Family Show Etiquette (this applies to Winter Guard, and all Concert performances)
*Come see the band perform.
*Show up early. Allow time to get to your seat.
*Avoid being a distraction (silence cell phones, only enter and depart between performances, keep children seated/as quiet as possible, etc)
*STAND AND APPLAUD EACH PERFORMANCE in recognition of the hard work and effort of the students. And no matter where we finish in the standings at the end of the event, applaud every band. They’ve all had many long, hard days just like our students.
*Focus on your Enjoyment of a performance or don’t comment at all. You don’t know who is sitting within hearing. This includes avoiding sending negative texts that someone could screenshot/forward to others. We only share positive comments about other bands. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
TFB DIRECTORS' CALENDAR
Dear Parents,
It’s the time of year when we start recruiting for volunteers to work with TFB! Our goal is for everyone to get involved in some way. As many parents can tell you, working with the band can be among the most rewarding experiences you can have with your student at FHS. Please take a moment to fill out the following survey to let us know your interests and how you would like to work with the band.
We will also schedule a future Zoom session to discuss volunteering with the band.
Thank you!
