Greeting Parents,
It is incredibly important that all parents/guardians of the band are present at our booster meeting in the band room next Tuesday, February 15th at 7pm. Now that I have been in the shoes of this position for the past 2.5 years, and we are (hopefully) heading toward more consistency in society in general, I am now more able to layout some new directions for the program. I belive we have some exciting new ways to approach what we do. As we do so, we will need all of us to be on the same page. This meeting will occur during the 8th grade open house. Please be mindful when parking. We already worked this out with the principals.
Thank you for teaming up as we help build the next great phase of THE FRANKLIN BAND!
Mr. Campos
Franklin Band Family,
There will be a meeting for all Franklin Band parents (also known as Band Boosters) this coming Tuesday, February 15th at 7pm on the band room. Come hear about exciting new updates and plans for the Franklin Band!
Congratulations to our students who made Mid-State Honor Bands!! See pictures below. The only students Mrs. V didn't stop in time to take a picture were the 9/10 Silver Band members (so sorry!). If you have pictures of your students from the performance night, please send to Mrs. Vogt (briana.vogt@wcs.edu) so we can share them in the Cadence!
We are so proud of you all and are grateful that you were finally able to experience a Mid-State event, following a year of it not being offered! CONGRATULATIONS on making beautiful music and making new friends!
Congratulations to our Franklin Band students who were chosen from the audition process to participate in Williamson County Honor Band held at Brentwood Baptist church this past weekend! These students represented Franklin HS very well in behavior and performance!!

All-State Band weekend is scheduled for April 27-30th, 2022 at Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Nashville. More information to come
Dana Sacdalan, mom to TFB junior Noah Sacdalan, continues to improve and will most likely be going home from rehab this weekend. Rosemary Muirhead plans to have a meal train sign up in next week's Cadence, so be on the lookout. And thank you for loving our TFB families!
Time to embarrass your children! If any Franklin Band Parent has an accomplishment, we want to hear about it! We discovered the parent highlights below on our own, and we want to know about more of you all. This is a great way for Boosters and Directors to get to know each other a bit more. Remember, no accomplishment is too small or too big!
Mrs. McGaha is the 2022 Williamson County High Schools' Teacher of the Year! This is the highest honor a teacher can receive in any school system and we are so thankful to have Mrs. McGaha as a TFB Booster. Congratulations, Mrs. McGaha (aka Aidan's Mom)!!
Dr. Mann was the Guest Clinician for the MTVA Choir Mid-State Clinic! This is a prestigious honor, just like being the conductor of a Mid-State Band, and we are so thankful to have Dr. Mann as a TFB Booster. Congratulations Dr. Mann (aka Cooper's Mom)!!
Franklin Band Members and Families,
Each spring we gather together to celebrate friendships, share our successes, and take a momentary look back at our accomplishments as we prepare for the future. Last year we were unable to continue our band banquet tradition due to the pandemic, however we are planning to have a full banquet again in 2022! During the banquet outstanding band members are recognized, awards are given at all grade levels, and all band seniors are presented as they share memories of their years as part of the Franklin Band. This is a wonderful event that you will not want to miss!
The Annual Spring Band Banquet will be held at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs on Sunday, May 1st, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6pm).
All are invited to attend! A plated 3 course meal is provided. Tickets are $50 per person and required for entrance and must be pre-purchased. Senior students whose band accounts are current will receive a free banquet ticket, compliments of the band boosters, but they must be reserved in advance.
Deadline to purchase tickets is March 31, 2022. Please go to the Insider section of the band website to order tickets (link: https://thefranklinband.org/fhs-band-banquet-ticket-order-form/)
*Please check your Charms email regarding the band banquet (Titled "Spring Band Banquet Ticket Ordering Now Available" and sent 11/6/2021 at 11:44AM) for further information on how to access the Insider section if you cannot remember the insider username and password.
SENIOR PARENTS: I will be asking you for 3 digital photos of your senior student - 1) a baby photo 2) a band photo and 3) a senior portrait
PLEASE email me these 3 photos to franklinbandevents@gmail.com and put your student's name and "senior photos" in the subject line.
THANK YOU,
Suzanne Ward

The Franklin Band is well-known and respected for being a kind and courteous program. So says Melissa Gufston-Hines of the O'Fallon HS Band, "We love when we get to see the folks of the Franklin Band at shows because we can always count on them being so classy."
Franklin Band Family Show Etiquette (this applies to Winter Guard, and all Concert performances)
*Come see the band perform.
*Show up early. Allow time to get to your seat.
*Avoid being a distraction (silence cell phones, only enter and depart between performances, keep children seated/as quiet as possible, etc)
*STAND AND APPLAUD EACH PERFORMANCE in recognition of the hard work and effort of the students. And no matter where we finish in the standings at the end of the event, applaud every band. They’ve all had many long, hard days just like our students.
*Focus on your Enjoyment of a performance or don’t comment at all. You don’t know who is sitting within hearing. This includes avoiding sending negative texts that someone could screenshot/forward to others. We only share positive comments about other bands. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
TFB DIRECTORS' CALENDAR
Dear Parents,
It’s the time of year when we start recruiting for volunteers to work with TFB! Our goal is for everyone to get involved in some way. As many parents can tell you, working with the band can be among the most rewarding experiences you can have with your student at FHS. Please take a moment to fill out the following survey to let us know your interests and how you would like to work with the band.
We will also schedule a future Zoom session to discuss volunteering with the band.
Thank you!
Jimmy Byrd
