Knit Fabric

A knit fabric is made up of yarns, and employs a series of interconnected loops to form the knit structure. As the loops distort and recover, this gives knit structures a unique stretch property.

Woven Fabric

Woven fabric only stretches diagonally on the bias directions (between the warp and weft directions), unless the threads used are elastic. Woven fabric cloth usually frays at the edges, unless techniques are used to counter it.
