Alfred Menezes is Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Combinatorics & Optimization at the University of Waterloo (Canada), and a member of the university's Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute. His research interests are in public-key cryptography, provable security, and post-quantum cryptography. He is co-author of Handbook of Applied
Cryptography and Guide to Elliptic Curve Cryptography. Since 2024 he has been developing cryptography101.ca, a repository for free online introductory courses in cryptography and related areas.
Paul van Oorschot is Professor of Computer Science at Carleton University (Canada). He is an ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His research interests include authentication and identity management, computer and Internet security, software security, usable security, key management, and applied cryptography. He is author of Computer Security and the Internet: Tools and Jewels from Malware to Bitcoin and co-author of Handbook of Applied Cryptography.
Bart Preneel is a Professor at KU Leuven, where he heads the COSIC research group. He has authored more than 400 scientific publications and is inventor of five patents. He has been program (co-)chair of 20 international conference (including Eurocrypt 2000, SAC 2005, CHES 2011, and FC 2014) and has been a member of more than 300 international program committees. He is an IACR Fellow, and received the RSA Award for Excellence in the Field of Mathematics in 2014. From 2008-2013, Bart served as president of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR). His research interests cover many aspects of cryptography, information security, and privacy.
