Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Message App: SMS Messenger (the "App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our SMS messaging application.
SHIVANSH INFOTECH ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to respecting your privacy. Please read this policy carefully to understand how we handle your information.
Message App: SMS Messenger is an Android SMS messenger app that lets you send and receive text messages, search messages, schedule SMS, archive chats, and use other useful messaging tools.
This Privacy Policy applies to the App available on Google Play Store. It covers our practices regarding data collection, use, sharing, and protection. The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use core features. All message data and recovery operations are handled locally on your device.
We design the App so that most of your personal data stays on your device. We do not collect personal information such as your name, phone number, or message content through our servers.
Information collected locally on your device includes:
Your SMS messages, contacts (with permission), and conversation history.
App settings and preferences (stored using Android DataStore and Room).
Scheduled message details.
Automatically collected technical information (via third-party services):
App usage statistics and crash reports (Firebase).
Advertising identifiers for showing relevant ads.
We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for the App to function.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR:
Performance of contract: To provide the messaging services you request.
Legitimate interests: To improve the App, fix bugs, and show relevant advertisements.
Consent: For certain permissions (like notifications or contacts) and analytics/tracking where required.
The App requests the following Android permissions. You can manage or revoke them anytime in your device settings.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To show message notifications and reminders reliably.
android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: To send scheduled messages at the exact time you set.
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To automatically restore scheduled messages after device restart.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: To wake the screen when important messages arrive so you don’t miss them.
android.permission.READ_CONTACTS: To show contact names instead of raw phone numbers and let you easily select recipients.
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE: To detect active calls and lower notification volume or pause actions during calls.
android.permission.READ_SMS: To read and display your existing message history and enable search.
android.permission.WRITE_SMS: To save drafts, mark messages as read/unread, and keep your message database organized.
android.permission.SEND_SMS: To send text messages you compose.
android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS: To automatically receive and display new incoming messages.
android.permission.INTERNET: To connect to the internet for ads, push notifications, and app improvements.
These permissions are essential for the core SMS functionality of the App.
All your messages, contacts, and chat data are stored locally on your device using secure Android storage solutions (Room database and DataStore). Your data does not leave your device through our App except when required for sending SMS or using third-party services (such as push notifications or ads).
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect locally stored data. However, no system is completely risk-free. We encourage you to keep your device secure with screen locks and updated software.
We use the following libraries and SDKs. Each has its own privacy practices:
Firebase SDK (Google): Used for analytics, crash reporting, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and remote configuration. Firebase Privacy Policy
Google AdMob / AdX: Used to show advertisements. Google Ad Policies | Google Privacy Policy
Facebook Audience Network (Meta): Used for advertising. Meta Privacy Policy
Room (Android Jetpack): For secure local database storage of messages and chats.
Koin: For dependency injection to keep the code clean and maintainable.
Gson: To handle data conversion between objects and JSON format locally.
Lottie: To display smooth animations within the App.
DataStore Preferences: For storing small amounts of app settings and preferences locally.
Glide: For efficient image loading and caching.

The App shows advertisements using AdMob, AdX, and Facebook Audience Network. These services may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, and usage data to show personalized ads.
Firebase Analytics helps us understand how people use the App so we can improve it and fix issues.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (Google Advertising ID settings or device-level ad personalization options).
The App does not use traditional web cookies. However, third-party services (Firebase, advertising networks) may use similar technologies like advertising identifiers and device tokens for their operations.
Your SMS content, contacts, and messages are processed only on your device for sending, receiving, searching, scheduling, and archiving. We do not upload this data to our servers.
Limited, non-personal technical data (crashes, app opens, ad interactions) may be sent to Firebase and advertising partners to improve the App and show ads.
Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all associated local data from your device.
We do not retain your personal message data on any servers.
The App offers in-app purchases and subscriptions for premium features. All payments are handled securely by Google Play Billing.
We do not collect, store, or see your payment details (card information or passwords).
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Google Play account settings.
You continue enjoying premium features until the end of the current billing period if you cancel.
Google may share limited non-personal information (such as subscription status) with us to enable premium features.
Refunds and cancellations are handled according to Google Play’s refund policies.
All in-app purchases follow Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
We do not share your purchase information with any third parties except as required by Google for billing.
If you are in the EEA, you have the right to:
Access your data
Rectify inaccurate data
Request deletion
Restrict or object to processing
Data portability
Since most data is stored locally, you can exercise many of these rights by managing your device storage or uninstalling the App. For assistance, contact us at the email below.
California residents have the right to:
Know what personal information is collected
Request deletion
Opt-out of sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
Non-discrimination for exercising these rights
We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers as this is a mobile application. You can limit tracking through your device advertising and privacy settings.
Any limited data sent to Firebase or advertising partners may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards as per applicable laws.
We do not engage in any form of malware distribution or network abuse. The App only uses necessary permissions for legitimate SMS and messaging functionality.
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
The App is not targeted at or intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last Updated” date and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
