2026 NFCA Texas Leadoff Classic Rules

February 12-14, 2026 

Time Limit:  1:40 finish the inning 

3-pitch Limit: Pitchers will be limited to 3 pitches between innings to speed up games and have more innings played

Tie Breaker: Internation ITB will begin when time expires or top of the 8th (NO TIES) 

Warm Up: No warm up on the game fields between games. Games will start early if possible so we can keep games on time as much as possible.

Ball: Each team provides 2 good optic yellow (HS legal) game balls at home plate prior to each game.

Foul Balls: Both teams please help in retrieving foul balls.

Official Book: Home team will keep the official book.

Home/Visitor: Home team is determined by a coin flip prior to the game. A&M Consolidated, Bryan, Caldwell, College Station, and Rudder HS will have the option to choose Home or Visitor.

Run Rule: 10 runs after 5 innings
 

Fan Tournament Passes:

Tournament Passes will be available for purchase at each complex gate/good for use at all complexes.

Dugouts: Top of Bracket / Team on Left (Round Robin) will use the 3rd base dugout. Bottom of Bracket / Team on Right (Round Robin) will use the 1st base dugout. IF YOU PLAY BACK TO BACK ON SAME FIELD -- STAY IN SAME DUGOUT. A&M Consolidated, College Station, Caldwell HS will use 3rd base dugout on their home field. Bryan and Rudder HS will use 1st base dugout on their home field.
Bracket Championship Finals: The Bracket Championship Game will not have a time limit

Venue Policy: Travis Fields A&M Consolidated HS, College Station HS & Caldwell HS (Turf Fields)

Sunflower seeds, and metal spiked cleats are NOT permitted. Rubber cleats are permitted, but no metal cleats on the field. Everyone(all teams) please make sure to pack proper footwear. All other city fields/high school fields are dirt.

Venue Policy: Bee Creek Park, Central Park 

These two parks will have pitching mats and do not allow metal spiked cleats, please have your pitchers prepared with proper footwear. (Rubber cleats are permitted)

Bus Parking: Veterans & Travis

Please make sure your larger vehicles(Buses) are not parked in the main parking lots located at the walk in entrance of each complex. Both have alternative parking lots for buses.

We will continue to monitor the weather and will relay any changes ASAP via the Group Me,  email, website, and our "X" account. Please be patient with us as we are at the discretion of the city parks and will do all we can to play the tournament out.
