Horizons is a camp featuring four different 4-H project learning programs. Each participant will select from one of the four programs to be offered. Woodworking Adventure is designed to teach youth the basic carpentry skills of planning, measuring, using carpentry tools and assembling wooden projects. Participants will construct a number of simple projects to hone their abilities in the art of woodworking. STEM Adventure is a science-based program with lab experiments, robots, catapults, and more. If youth have a keen interest in science and technology this is the project for you. Vet Science Adventure provides opportunities to learn more about animals, animal welfare, and how to become a veterinarian. A few things youth will learn and do are animal nutrition, handling and restraining animals, and animal examinations and treatments. Wildlife Adventure is a focus on wildlife and wildlife habitat in an outdoor experience to raise awareness about conservation of our natural resources, nurture appreciation of wildlife, and promote stewardship. It will include hands on wildlife education activities, kayaking, hiking, and much more outdoors. Horizons Camp will also include many of the fun activities you have come to enjoy at the 4-H Center, such as dancing, swimming and lots more. More than just camping, we strive to provide opportunities for young people to grow and mature.
