Since 2011, Texas 4-H has made a special effort to engage military youth both on and off the 12 installations/bases across the state. Since 2012, the Outreach Program has expanded to serve other underserved youth from different cultural backgrounds.
We are working closely with local community leaders and 4-H staff, to build relationships and develop educational programs that meet the needs and interests of youth and families in a culturally responsive manner. Programs vary widely in content ranging from technology and natural resources to culinary and cultural arts, sports and summer camps.
4-H Military Partnerships focuses on positive youth development by providing opportunities for youth to engage in intentional learning experiences. We partner with 4-H educators to provide the training and resources they need to succeed in equipping the next generation of leaders.
