Tetraploid is a scientific term used to describe a state of polyploidy found in cells, which is having more than two paired (homologous) sets of chromosomes. Tetra means four in Latin, so Tetraploid means four sets of paired chromosomes. The name came from the fact that we were four individuals when the team started (Tetra), all of us were attentive to biological science especially genetics and chromosomes (ploid), hence came the name, but now, we are a group of over 20 intelligent students.
