History

The first TES Workshop was organized by Kent Irwin in 2002 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Boulder, Colorado. The original goal of the workshop was to bring together scientists from around the world working on transition edge sensors to share, discuss, and understand new results from TES devices made from different materials and in various geometries. Every two years the Workshop would meet, advancing the maturity of the TES device, and creating a supportive community of researchers from across the globe.

Beginning in 2008, the TES Workshop was added as a special session of the Applied Superconductivity Conference (ASC) in Chicago, Illinois.

This is the 9th TES Workshop and will be held in Seattle, Washington as part of ASC 2018 from October 28th to November 2nd.
