Trouble Shooting #1: TESTING THE SITES USED IN Teacher's Brain's Digital ESCAPE ROOMS
You do NOT have to use Google Classroom to use this site. If everything on this test site works, you can use any of my digital escapes.
If the escape room has AUDIO and it's not working, just refresh your page.
Below are the websites I may use in the Escape Rooms I create. Often I use YouTube and Jigsaw Planet. Test these two sites below in your classroom. If you are getting error messages from your school computers, your school may have a firewall up, and that is blocking these sites. If this is the case, you can reach out to your IT department, and see if they will lift the block for your classroom activity.
Trouble Shooting #2-MAKING SURE GOOGLE SITES IS NOT BLOCKED IN MY CLASSROOM
If you post the Google Sites Link in Google Classroom, and you are getting a 404 message or the website is not loading, again, your school may have firewalls up to block Google Sites. Here is a work around:
1. On your students' Chrome Books, have them log out of their Google Chrome account in the top right hand corner.
2. Once they do this, have them reload Google Chrome and refresh the page.
3. Have them manually type in the URL of the Escape Room. You can even try it with this test page.
4. This normally works, and they may have to do it a few times.
All of my digital escape rooms have YouTube videos that I made. They have been marked "for kids" so there are not comments on the videos.
Jigsawplanet.com is another website I like to use regularly in my digital escape rooms. If the puzzle is complete, click on the three dots in bottom left hand corner, and CLICK RESTART.
ProProfs Website - I use these a lot in my escape rooms. Make sure Google Sites are not blocked. (Each escape room will tell you in the description which sites are included.)
