Text box --- for heading to be inserted.

The banner image can be changed to anything you have. But you cannot adjust the image to show the bits you want.... You can just change the size of the banner from "no image", "normal sized image" and "large banner image"

It would be better for captions to be inserted with a choice of different font or at least a smaller sized font of the same as the rest of the page.

Images inserted can be resized as you wish & not confined to "original", S, L, M. Images can also be moved around. Text box can be easily added to appear beside an image and sized to be the same as the image to give a neater look. The bummer is, you cannot now change the font of the text.

You can add a nice background image to make the section more outstanding. The nicest bit is the ability to add your own image.

As the final page and the editing page are not the same in dimension, sizing a text box the same as the picture next to it in editing mode may not yield two items of the same size when viewed in the final page.. This text box looks "taller" than the pic on the left in editing mode, but it's in fact smaller!

The above was inserted from Google Drive , a Google document... you will not be sure how it looks in the final copy till you have published it.

You can change the background style from "Nomal" (which shows your text box as separate from the other items in this section), Emphasis 1 (which "blend" your text box in with all the other items) or Emphasis 2 (which does the same as Emphasis 1 but with an added background colour of yellow). You also have a choice to add an image to every section.

It is very easy to add a Google Map.

It is easy to embed a calendar now.

You also have a lot of choices in the Calendar setting (Week, Month, Agenda; show title, show time-zone etc.)

Embedding YouTube video is also easy. But the control given in Setting is not that extensive.

Inserting Google Slides is easy. But inserting Google Sheet is problematic, resulting in a "hang" tab that I had to close and re-open Google Sites. But on the good side, you can now put two inserts side by side and adjust the width accordingly to suit your need.

Adding images is easy (especially done From Drive). You can put in multiple photographs but will need to resize the image before insertion, especially if you want two pictures to appear side by side as above.

Inserting Google Form is very easily done.

Embed URL perhaps is the most innovative of the new Google Sites's new feature. I was able to embed the front page of my blog and resize the insertion to show the details I wanted to be seen. This is like a "frame" and allows you to navigate the embeded site without "leaving" your Google Sites.....

This image was inserted using the "Upload" function.

I picked the image (anthurium flower, my most accomplished work on plant tissue culture in the mid 1990s!) and the picture was inserted as per Google Drive insertion of picture.
