TestTimer Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 17, 2026

TestTimer ("the app") is developed by Cameron Obst ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles your data — the short version is: it doesn't collect any.

No data collection

TestTimer works completely offline. It does not request or use an internet connection, does not contain any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software development kits (SDKs), and does not require you to create an account or sign in.

We do not collect, transmit, store remotely, or have access to:

- Your name, email address, or any other personal identifier

- Your test timings, question counts, or pacing history

- Your device identifiers, location, or usage statistics

- Any other data about you or your device

Nothing you do in the app is ever sent anywhere, to us or to anyone else.

What the app stores, and where

TestTimer stores your test setup and, if you use the "Stop and Log" feature, a local history of past tests (duration, question count, elapsed time, and whether the test was completed or stopped early). This data is saved **only in a local database on your device** — it is technically excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup, so it never leaves your device through that channel either.

You can clear this history at any time from the "View Log" screen's "Clear All" button. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted along with it.

Permissions

TestTimer requests one permission:

Vibrate — used to give a haptic pulse alongside (or instead of, in vibrate-only ringer mode) the audible pacing beep. This permission has no data-access implications.

TestTimer does not request permission to access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, storage, or any other sensitive device capability.

Children's privacy

TestTimer does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does involve data collection — this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly. As of the effective date above, no such feature exists.
