I’m a PhD student at Idaho State University studying volcanoes and magmatic processes. I grew up in Southern Utah, where red rock landscapes were my backyard playground. Those early adventures sparked a curiosity about how the Earth works, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I began college in education, but that first semester geology course completely changed my path. Since then, I’ve blended my love for teaching with research, spending as much time as I can in the field studying volcanic systems and the world around us. My work combines field observations with analytical techniques to better understand how magmatic systems evolve.
My goal is to become a professor, continue researching volcanoes and magmatic systems, and create hands-on, field-centered learning experiences that help students see themselves as scientists.
