Emily Summers has been coaching ice hockey since 2014 and playing for over 20 years. She has coached a variety of age groups with the Montgomery Youth Hockey Association (MYHA) Ice Devils, and is currently coaching with the program's 10U and 14U girls' teams. In addition to youth hockey, Emily has been the head coach for the Maryland School Hockey League (MSHL) Montgomery County girl's team for two years. As a fellow Terp, Emily was excited to rejoin the UMD coaching staff last year after coaching with the team from 2014-2019. Emily plays ice hockey with the District Renegades and ball hockey with the First Ladies.
Danielle McLean has been playing and coaching ice hockey for over 30 years. After competing in the ACHA while attending Hofstra University, she played on a number of high-level women's hockey teams in Massachusetts and Maryland. Danielle spent over three years teaching young 3 to 10-year-olds how to skate in Boston and Maryland, was an assistant coach for a Bantam-level team in Sydney, Australia and coached a high school team in Laurel, Maryland. A senior editor at the news publication, Smart Cities Dive by day, Danielle also coaches a U10 girls hockey team at St. James in Virginia and is a player on the Tri-City Trash Pandas women's hockey team.
