Privacy Policy for Vidbrowse
Effective date: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vidbrowse ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. By using Vidbrowse, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Vidbrowse is a web browser and an on-device video player. We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Analytics and technical data (automatically):
- App usage data such as screens viewed, features used, taps, and session length.
- Device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, language, region, and app version.
Identifiers:
- A pseudonymous app-instance identifier generated by Firebase.
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (see "Advertising" below).
Diagnostics:
- Crash logs and diagnostic/performance data, used to detect and fix problems.
Advertising data:
- Ad-interaction data and, with your consent, your advertising identifier (IDFA), collected by Google AdMob to deliver and measure ads.
Stored only on your device (not collected by us):
- Your browsing history and bookmarks.
- Videos you import and any folders or favorites you create.
- Your app preferences.
These stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- Understand how the App is used so we can make it better.
- Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems.
- Display and measure advertisements.
3. Advertising
The App displays ads using Google AdMob, a service provided by Google. On first launch we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, your advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to show more relevant (personalized) ads. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
To deliver and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect and process data such as your advertising identifier (with your consent), IP address, device information, and ad-interaction data. This data is handled by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
4. Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to detect and fix crashes. These tools collect the analytics, identifier, and diagnostic data described above in a pseudonymous form. This data is processed by Google in accordance with its privacy policy (linked above).
5. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or account credentials. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Children's Privacy
Vidbrowse is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will address it.
7. Your Choices
- Tracking: You can allow or deny tracking at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Local data: You can delete your browsing history, bookmarks, imported videos, folders, and preferences from within the App, or by deleting the App, which removes all locally stored data.
8. Data Retention
Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Analytics, crash, and advertising data are retained by Google according to its own retention policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Effective date." Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
