Terms of Service — Echoly

These terms govern your use of Echoly. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. The service

Echoly records audio and converts it to text using automated speech recognition. It is provided as-is, on a subscription basis with a limited free tier.

2. Your account

You need an account to transcribe audio. You may record and store audio locally without one.

You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for everything done through it. Provide accurate information. One person, one account — don't share credentials.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent usage limits.

3. Plans, quotas, and billing

Free tier: 30 minutes of transcription per calendar month. This limit applies per account and per device, so creating additional accounts on the same device does not increase it.

Paid plans: Lite (8 hours per month) and Pro (15 hours per month), billed monthly or annually. Quotas reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over.

Payment is processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings — we cannot cancel it for you.

Prices may change. We will notify you before any change takes effect, and you may cancel before it applies.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.

4. Accuracy

Transcription is automated and will contain errors. Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents, background noise, overlapping speech, and language.

Do not rely on Echoly transcripts as the sole record for legal, medical, financial, or other consequential purposes without reviewing them against the original audio. We make no warranty as to accuracy.

5. Your content

Your audio and transcripts are yours. You keep all rights to them.

You grant us only the limited licence needed to run the service: to store your audio, transmit it to our transcription provider, produce transcripts, and return them to you. Nothing more.

We do not use your content to train AI models.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use Echoly to:

• Record anyone unlawfully, or in violation of recording, wiretapping, or privacy laws where you are

• Process content you have no right to process

• Upload material that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights

• Attempt to bypass quotas, reverse engineer the app, or disrupt the service

• Resell or redistribute the service without our written permission

Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. In many places you must inform participants that they are being recorded, and sometimes obtain their consent. Complying is your responsibility, not ours.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

We depend on third-party providers, and their outages may affect us.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or losses arising from transcription errors

• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including, for consumers in Türkiye and the EU, your statutory rights.

9. Termination

You may stop using Echoly at any time and delete your account in the app. Deleting your account removes your recordings and transcripts permanently.

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period, and you keep access until the period ends.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use Echoly after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of  TÜRKİYE, and disputes are subject to the courts of Istanbul. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence.
