Welcome to Rakshak ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App Rakshak is a personal safety and emergency SOS application designed to assist users in sending distress signals, location details via SMS, and simulating a fake call to deter threats.

2. Not a Replacement for Emergency Services The App is a supplementary safety tool and is NOT a substitute for official emergency services (such as Police, Ambulance, or Fire Department). In a real emergency, users are strongly advised to directly contact their local emergency numbers (e.g., 112 or 100) alongside using the App.

3. Accuracy and Reliability

• GPS Dependency: The accuracy of the live location sent to your emergency contacts depends heavily on your device's GPS hardware, software, and current environmental conditions.

• Network/SMS Dependency: The App relies on your cellular network provider to send SOS SMS messages. The developer does not guarantee that the SMS will be successfully delivered, as this depends entirely on network availability and your active SMS balance/plan.

• Offline Functionality: While the App features offline capabilities, the delivery of traditional SMS still requires a basic cellular signal.

4. User Data and Privacy

• The App requires permissions such as Location, Contacts, and SMS to function properly.

• All data processed by the App (including your emergency contacts and location) is processed locally on your device.

• The developer does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external cloud servers. Your data remains completely in your control.

5. Acceptable Use You agree to use the App only for its intended safety purposes. You must not:

• Misuse the App to send false alarms, prank messages, or spam to your contacts or authorities.

• Use the "Fake Call" or "SOS Siren" features to create public panic or harass individuals.

• Reverse engineer, copy, or distribute the App for commercial purposes without the developer's consent.

6. Limitation of Liability The Rakshak App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The developer of Rakshak shall not be held legally liable or responsible for:

• Any injury, harm, loss of life, or property damage that occurs while using or attempting to use the App.

• Any failure of the App to send SOS messages, inaccurate location tracking, or app crashes during an emergency situation.

• Any charges incurred from your telecom provider for the SMS messages sent through the App.

7. Changes to these Terms We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be reflected within the App or on our official download page. Continued use of the App after changes implies your acceptance of the new terms.
