Identify the common tools and equipments used in electrical.
Appreciate the importance of this tools in performing an electrical termination and connection.
Demonstrate the use of this common tools and equipment used in electrical.

INTRODUCTION :

- Tools and equipment refer to devices, instruments, or machines used to perform specific tasks or functions efficiently.Tools are typically handheld and used manually, such as hammers, screwdrivers, and wrenches,while Equipment includes larger or more complex machines and devices, often powered by electricity or other energy sources, like drills, forklifts, or computers.

DEFINITION OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS IN ELECTRICAL :

- Electrical tools and equipment refer to specialized instruments, devices, and machines used for electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance.Just like the basic definition between tools and equipments,Electrical tools are handheld devices used to manipulate, cut, strip, or connect electrical components, such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and voltage testers.Electrical equipment includes larger or powered devices used for electrical work, such as multimeters, power drills, circuit testers, and transformers.

IMPORTANCE OF ELECTRICAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS :

• SAFETY - Proper tools reduce the risk of electric shocks, fires, and injuries.

• EFFECIENCY - They help electricians complete tasks faster and more accurately.

• PRECISION - Ensures correct connections, voltage readings, and installations.

• DURABILITY - High-quality tools and equipment enhance long-term reliability and performance.

• COMPLIANCE - Using the right tools helps follow electrical codes and standards.

- In summary,Electrical tools and equipment are essential for safe, effective, and professional electrical work in homes, industries, and power systems.

Not only we are using this tools and equipment because we just need to but perhaps; it is required and we have this standards and codes that we follow.This codes and standards are based on the PHILLIPINE ELECTRICAL CODE (PEC's) that is also based on NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (NEC's).

COMMON TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS USED IN ELECTRICAL :

COMMON TOOLS

Here are some common tools or handy tools used by a electrician in performing a connection or termination :

PLIERS

Also calld as linemines pliers are a type of hand tool used for gripping, bending, cutting, and manipulating materials like wires, small metal parts, or even plastic.

SIDE CUTTING PLIERS

Is also a type of pliers that is Used for cutting wires during connection.

LONG NOSE PLIERS

Or also called as Needle nose pliers, is a tool used for bending, holding, and twisting small or thin wires.

PHILIPHEAD SCREW DRIVER

A Phlip screw drivers is use to loosen or tigthen screws, typically, it has a pointed tip in a shape of a cross.

FLATHEAD SCREW DRIVER

Just like a Phlip screwdrivers, this is also use to loosen or tigthen screws but it has a flat head compare to Philip screwdrivers.

WIRE STRIPPER

Used to remove insulation from electrical wires without damaging the conductor.

CRIMPING TOOL

Used to attach connectors, terminals, or splices securely to the wire.

WRENCH

Adjustable and socket wrenches for tightening electrical components.

ELECTRICAL TAPE

This safety tape is use to cover insulated wires or electrical connections where electricity is flowing

COMMON MEASURING / TESTING TOOL

COMMON MEASURING AND TESTING TOOLS :

This measuring tools is used to measure the amount of voltage,current, or ohms.This tools can be also use to check the flow or continuity or to troubleshoot a wiring or circuit, example of this are the pictures below :

MULTI-TESTER

Also called as MULTI-METER, is use to Measures voltage, current, and resistance in just one device.It has also 2 types, the ANALOG and DIGITAL multi-tester.

VOLTMETER

This is used to measure only on voltage (VOLTS).Checks for live wires and electrical presence.

AMMETER

This is used to measure only on amperes (AMP). An electrical measuring instrument used to measure the electric current in a circuit.

OHMMETER

This is used to measure only on OHMS. An electrical device used to measure electrical resistance, expressed in ohms (Ω).

CLAMP METER

This is an advanced type of tester. Measures current flow without touching wires directly.

PULL-PUSH RULE

This tool is use for measuring length of wires or length of pipes,in short,this tool is used for precise measurements.

OTHER TYPES OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS USED IN ELECTRICAL :

ELECTRIC DRILL

Use to create holes on different surfaces such as wood,plastic,concrete,metals etc.

HEAT GUN

This tool is commonly used for bending plastic pipe for wire raceways, heat gun is use to soften pipes in order to bend it in a desired angle

This tool are very helpful and handy to a electrician,this common tools are just like a weapon for the electricians.This also provides safety when performing electrical terminations and connections because this tools are really intended for the safety of an electrician while also ensuring the proper and solid quality of the connection and termination.
