About & News

Bio I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics at Umeå University, Sweden, and an Invited Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IST: Instituto Superior Técnico/Interactive Technologies Institute/LARSyS in Lisbon, Portugal.

My work draws from the fields of interaction design Informatics and feminist science and technology studies; it is in dialogue with material-centered & justice-oriented design approaches. My research engages critically with the design of technologies concerned with the experiential qualities of care, particularly within the domain of Intimate Digital (Women’s) Health & Wellbeing.

Research: My research is concerned with Interaction Design for health and wellbeing and I work within the area of (HCI) Human-Computer Interaction/Design. I am interested in designing technologies that challenge everyday practices and ways that people approach and (co)design innovative technological interventions as tools for knowledge production in diverse contexts of care. My work is design-led and interventional, and I design e.g. interactions and prototypes as catalysts for dialogue that will drive social innovation and transform perspectives on societal challenges.
