With the debut of the relatively unknown artist, Ne-yo, expectations for his first album was low for the consumers and producers of the product. But as I finished listening to the album, i realize that those expectations were exceedingly met and then more. The cd starts off with the song 'Stay', which is a good r&b song that shows off the young artists' excellent writing abilities. The standout tracks include, "'When You're Mad', 'It Just Ain't Right', 'Mirror', and 'Sexy Love'." All of these songs are great r&b tracks that show a glimpse of the r&b artists' potential. Then there is the monster track 'So Sick', which sped him to the road of super-stardom. A r&b ballad that shows Ne-yo's ability to ifflict emotion upon the listener with just his voice. But along from all of that this album does have its' missteps. 'Get Down Like That' is a song that could turn listeners off with its' country-r&b flavor. It's not really country it just sounds like it at times. Then there's the song 'Let Me Get This Right' which is the worst song on the album, it's an okay song but it can be a little boring at times and doesn't spark any interest from me to listen to it again. The rest of the songs are mediocre to good and require an open mind to really enjoy, but you will realize like I did that this is a new r&b artist on the rise to super-stardom. A artist that will bring real r&b music back to the forefront of the music world.

Ne-Yo is one of the most prominent and active Arkansas-born recording artists and songwriters performing in the early twenty-first century. Initially known for songs he wrote for other artists, Ne-Yo began releasing solo rhythm and blues (R&B) albums of his own in 2006.

Overall, Ne Yo's debut album and his start in the music industry proved to be a resounding success.

Ne Yo had established himself as a talented singer with his debut album. The American singer would capitalize on his overwhelming success with his follow-up album Because of You in 2007, with its success matching up to its predecessor.

The development of the Because of You record would be overseen by the same brilliant minds responsible for the success of Ne Yo's debut album, with the likes of Stargate, Feemster and even Shea Taylor adding their personal touch to the widely successful follow-up album.

Because of You was yet another example of Ne Yo's natural inclination towards music, with the album debuting at the number one spot on the US Billboard 200' chart. By the time 2008 came around, Ne Yo was one of the music industry's most valuable assets. The American singer and songwriter continued his dominance in the R&B genre, with his third album, Year of the Gentleman, proving a commercial success.

The album's development was overseen by a few familiar faces, including Shea Taylor and Stargate, that proved to be integral building blocks in the success of Ne Yo's previous albums. The critically acclaimed album would be the fourth consecutive top-ten album in the United States and would play a significant role in maintaining Ne Yo's dominance in the music industry.

The development of the RED record would involve the contribution of one of Ne Yo's frequent collaborators, Stargate, as well as the American production duo 'The Underdogs'. The album debuted at the number 17 spot on the UK Albums Chart and would be the third consecutive top-twenty album after Ne Yo's 2006 record In My Own Words.

With the release of Non-fiction, Ne Yo became the second male R&B artist to possess six consecutive top 10 albums behind Chris Brown. The album's decent performance all-around made it the 140th most popular album of the year on the 'Billboard 200' in 2016 and posted a superior sales figure of a whopping 108,000 units in the United States. be457b7860
